OLVCS Updates
September 19, 2024
Dear OLVCS Families,
We are closing in on the 2024 OLVCS Walk-A-Thon. Much work is going on to prepare for the day and secure in-kind and business donations. How can you help? Send in coins tomorrow for the last day of the Coin Drive, and also make your family donation. In addition you can reach out to Marlena Vendemia development@olvcs.org if you would like to help prior to or the day of.
If you were around in March of 2020, two significant events happened. First, OLVCS completed the Middle States evaluation and secured Accreditation! Two days later we left for Spring Break, and didn’t return to school due to a worldwide pandemic, the second significant event.
The Diocesan Education Office has decided that the elementary, and middle schools will go through the Middle States evaluation as an entire diocese. You will receive a survey within the next few weeks to help guide the process. More information to come, but I wanted to give you a heads-up.
Next Wednesday is our first Dress Down Day! It is a Dollar Dress Down Day, proceeds will go to the Walk-A-Thon.
Thursday, September 26th No School for grades 5th - 8th these grades need two days for conference
Friday, September 27th: No School K - 8 Conferences
Make your day a great one!
Samantha

How Do Walk-A-Thon Funds Impact Our School?
Here's What Our Parents Have To Say About The Walk-A-Thon!
- "The Walk-A-Thon is such an essential event for OLVCS. It has a significant impact on the school! The safety upgrades have been especially important to our family. I can't say enough great things about OLV. We love the service-oriented, value-based education along with the strong academic foundation they're building. MOST importantly, OLV is teaching them what it looks like to be good people who care about others and the world around them."
- "I love the Walk-A-Thon day for my children, for all of the ways the funds support our school, especially to make it a safe school and teaching the children the values of service, love, faith, dignity, and integrity as well as working together as a Catholic community!"
- "The Walk-A-Thon helps OLVCS to thrive, and in today's culture, having a thriving Catholic School is imperative for instilling Christian values in our children. The Walk-A-Thon is a fun way to raise money to help with specific school needs, such as field trips, technology needs, and athletics."
- The Walk-A-Thon is a great way for the students to come together as a whole. The outpouring of support from the community and families helps to benefit our faith based school in so many ways."
- "The funds from Walk-A-Thon impact our children in so many ways from technology, classroom supplies, field trips, athletics, co-curricular activities, and safety and security enhancements. Our children also get to witness the impact that a faith community can have as the Walk-A-Thon is supported by their friends, families, fellow parishioners, and local businesses."
