Mission Statement
Our ECHS Owls are taught to have H.O.P.E.--faith in the premise that they can create OPPORTUNITY and a better future through EFFORT, HARD WORK, and PERSONAL COURAGE. This idea of H.O.P.E. is woven into the fabric of our ECHS family.
Greetings ECHS Community!
It’s been a positive and productive week.
Members of our ECHS Community are highlighted within today’s OWLstanding News section to include: Rally Day at the Texas State Capitol and the AVID 3 College Visit.
We have FIVE MORE DAYS in the 3rd nine week period and we want to ensure ALL ECHS students have what they need to be successful. Please be reminded that support, during class times and tutorials, is available to ALL ECHS students. Our Owls are asked to please reach out to their teachers and professors to schedule time to make up work and to get any needed assistance.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

ECHS “OWL”standing News!
Rally Day at the Texas State Capitol
On Monday, February 24th, a delegation from ECHS PTSA that included ECHS students and parents as well as ECHS PTSA Executive Board members attended Texas PTA's Rally Day at the Texas Capitol. Our delegation attended the Student Caucus where they heard from Representative Gina Hinojosa, a student panel and a panel of legislative staffers on a wide range of topics as they related to public education. They marched with students, parents and educators from across Texas to the Capitol Building where the speakers included Representative James Talarico and Senator Nathan Johnson among others. Our delegates had lunch with other delegations from RRISD's Council of PTAs before attending a brief meeting with Representative John Bucy III. To learn more about Texas PTA's legislative priorities and add your voice in support of public education, please visit: https://www.txpta.org/legislative-priorities.
AVID 3 Field Trip
On February 28th, a group of AVID 3 students attended a college visit to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB). We appreciate our AVID 3 teachers, Mrs. Wagliardo and Mr. Clinscales, for planning this field trip opportunity for our students.

DISTRICT UPDATE:
Vote for the Round Rock ISD 2026-27 School Calendar before March 5
Feb 25, 2025
The Round Rock ISD calendar committee made up of district and campus staff and parents from each learning community, has created two draft academic calendar options for the 2026-27 school year.
Before bringing the calendar committee’s recommendation to the Board of Trustees, the district is surveying families, staff, and students to gather their preferences between Option A and Option B of the proposed academic calendar.
The calendar survey closes on Wednesday, Mar. 5. One response per person is recorded.
The Board of Trustees will review the calendar committee’s recommendations and the community’s feedback before deciding which draft of the academic calendar to adopt. Survey participants can submit their feedback in English or Spanish.
The differences between the calendars involve the first and last days of school, the placement of student holidays/staff professional development days and YOU days in October 2025 and February 2026.
