Principal's Message
Dear Bulldog Community-
I hope that you had a wonderful week. We live in the most beautiful state. One day it is a blizzard, the next day it is blue skies and sunny!
Weekly Highlights:
- Our Boys' Basketball teams played hard this week. We are so proud of them.
- Congratulations to our Community Circle winners. Today they received certificates for the achievements and Dunkin Donut donated treats! Keep up the great work, Bulldogs.
- We had so much fun at our Skate City Family Night. Thank you to those that were able to make it out. We will plan another night in the spring. Stay tuned.
- The Colorado State Education Commissioner came to visit Galileo this week. This is part of our process as we begin to share our work with the state to use the Community School Strategy as a pathway for Galileo.
Upcoming Events:
- With the support of many district and community partners, we will be heading to Denver on Wednesday, February 12th to share our three-year strategic plan.
- Thursday, February 20th we will have another Galileo Fundraiser Night in partnership with Oskar Blues Fooderies. More information to come, but please mark your calendars for a fun filled evening from 3p-9p,
Reminders:
- There is no school Monday, February 3rd for students. Teachers will be engaging in all day professional learning throughout the district. We look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday, February 4th.
We were disappointed to have to cancel our School Accountability Committee meeting on Thursday. Once we have a new date, we will be sure to share it with you. Enjoy your weekend!
In partnership,
Julia Scott

We’re inviting you to help shape the future of Galileo School! The Colorado State Board of Education wants to hear from YOU—our students, families, staff, and community members.
What’s Happening?
Each year, schools are evaluated in areas like student achievement, growth, and readiness for the future. Galileo has received a "Priority Improvement" rating for five years.
When this happens, the Colorado State Board of Education must decide on actions to improve the school, which may include:
- Partnering with another organization to help manage the school.
- Applying for Innovation School status.
- Converting to a charter or community school.
- Making other major changes.
On February 12th, 2025, at 10:30 AM, Colorado Springs D11 will present a plan for Galileo to the State Board.
How Can You Help?
The State Board wants your input on:
