Cambridge Elementary Community School
Hello! Iβm Blanca Martinez-Rodriguez, and Iβm thrilled to begin my 10th year with OUSD as the Community Lead at Cambridge ElementaryβHome of the Cubs. Iβm excited to collaborate with our families and strengthen our connections with our incredible community.
At Cambridge, weβve developed a range of impactful programs over the years. As the former Community Assistant, Iβve had the privilege of overseeing initiatives such as our Monthly Free Farmers Market, Uniform Assistance Programβsponsored by the Assistance League of Orangeβand the Shoes that Fit Program, which partners with Nike and New Balance to provide brand-new shoes for students in need.
This year, weβre also excited to keep partnering with the Smile Dental Program. They bring mobile dental care right to our school, making it easier for parents and ensuring that kids get gentle, professional dental care in a familiar and supportive environment.
I look forward to another great year working together with our families and community to support our students!
First Day of School Celebration
Welcome Back Cubs!
βοΈOn August 21, we kicked off the school year with a warm welcome back to our Cubs! π It was the first day of school, and seeing everyoneβs smiles as they reunited with friends and teachers made it extra special. π Weβve missed our Cubs and are excited for a fantastic year ahead! π
Cambridge Community School Committee
At the end of last school year, we held our first Community School Steering Committee meeting. π It was fantastic to see parents, students, teachers, classified staff, and our admin team come together to share their perspectives.
During the meeting, we participated in a fun asset mapping activity. We broke into four groups and listed all the amazing assets Cambridge already has in place. πΊοΈ
This collaborative approach allowed us to ensure that all voices are heard and that everyone plays a role in shaping our community school. π
Weβre excited to keep this spirit of teamwork going and canβt wait to see what we can achieve together this year! π€

School Messenger Text Message
Parents and Guardians You can take advantage of our Text Messaging Service
Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages, straight to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts and more.
You can participate in this free service* just by sending a text message of "Y" or "Yes" to our school's short code number, 67587.
You can also opt out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with "Stop".
We recommend saving this short code and Caller ID to the contacts on your phone. This will help prevent any 3rd party call blocking systems from interfering with your receipt of important messages sent by the school or district.
