Superintendent's Update
Dear Egg Harbor Township School Community,
Here we are mid-winter with the school year half completed. February is a month filled with opportunities to honor history, show appreciation, and recognize the values that unite us as a community. Our character education word is KINDNESS. Whether through small acts of kindness, words of encouragement, or simply taking a moment to express gratitude, we encourage our students and staff to spread positivity and compassion throughout our school community and simply be KIND to one another.
As we observe Presidents’ Day, we take the opportunity to reflect on the leadership and vision of those who have shaped our nation. It is a time to honor the ideals of democracy, civic responsibility, and the importance of working together to create a brighter future.
We proudly celebrate African American History Month, a time to reflect on the profound contributions, achievements, and resilience of Black Americans throughout history. Our schools will engage in meaningful lessons, discussions, and activities that highlight the impact of Black leaders, innovators, and changemakers, reinforcing our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
February also brings Valentine’s Day, a reminder of the importance of kindness, appreciation, and connection. Students will be sharing their kindness amongst their classmates participating in classroom activities.
National School Counseling Week is Feb. 3-7, 2025, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of our school counselors within U.S. school systems. This year's theme is School Counseling: Helping Students Thrive. National School Counseling Week, presented by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
We are grateful for our students, staff, and families who continue to Embrace, Engage, and Educate every day. Your dedication and support make our schools a place of growth, inspiration, and excellence. #EHTPride
Thank you for all that you do to make our community strong. Wishing you a wonderful month of February!
GO EAGLES!!
Warm regards,
Dr. Gruccio

District Mission and Goals
Mission Statement- Embrace - Engage - Educate
Our mission in the Egg Harbor Township School District is to embrace families and their
students to provide a safe, rigorous, and relevant learning experience while students are engaged and educated to become responsible for their own learning.
Student Achievement
In order to prepare students for the future that awaits them, teaching practices will incorporate new technologies and innovation to support student learning to prepare students for the future that awaits them. Professional Learning Community work will encompass the Teaching and Assessing Cycle. This data will assist in meeting individual student needs using the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework. We will also focus on the social and emotional needs of every student to foster successful learning experiences.
Culture, Climate and EHT Pride
S.O.A.R. (SAFETY, OWNERSHIP, ACCOUNTABILITY, RESPECT) will be used as the foundation to ensure a safe learning environment for all. SOAR provides students with self-regulation skills, life skills, and character skills that will assist them with student achievement, work ethic, good character, and a respect for diversity. We will celebrate progress through recognition and reward to reinforce student expectations for a positive school climate, culture, and #EHTPride.
Expand Stakeholder Partnerships
Continue to form positive, supportive, and sustained partnerships with community partners to complement and enhance student learning, activities, and athletics at all grade levels. The effectiveness of these partnerships will depend on the quality of collaboration, the alignment of goals, and the level of commitment from all involved parties. These stakeholders include students, parents, teachers, support staff, school administrators, the Board of Education, community organizations, businesses, and government agencies.
