Lakeland Highlights
October 2024/2025
Superintendent's Message
Greetings Lakeland Families!
I hope you enjoyed Halloween last week with your children! It’s been a busy end to October for us. Both THS and LHS sent teams to state tournaments. This has been one of the strongest fall sports seasons we have had in recent years! Congratulations to our athletes and coaches.
There is no school tomorrow for our students. Our elections have become more boisterous than we are used to. As a public school district, we are required to allow our buildings to be used as polling places. In the spirit of school safety, we have made the decision to not have students in our buildings on election day. We moved the teacher professional development day that we had previously taken in October to tomorrow.
Speaking of the election, please be sure to vote tomorrow. The renewal of the Supplemental Levy is on the ballot. I hope you have seen the information that has been shared regarding the levy. If you have any questions, please reach out to me at the District Office; 208-687-0431.
Veteran’s Day is next Monday, November 11th. We have included the schedule of assemblies and events for each of our buildings in this edition of the Lakeland Highlights. We hope you are able to join us in celebrating our Veterans.
We have three full weeks of instruction before Thanksgiving break. Enjoy all that fall has to offer in North Idaho.
Warm Regard,
Lisa Arnold

Congratulations to Hayven Chase on receiving her American Degree, the highest honor as an FFA member. Hayven is the first member from the Timberlake FFA chapter to receive this degree!
Thank you to the Lakeland Booster Club for donating the money to purchase new lockers for the Lakeland Football Locker Room!!
Over the summer, the Lakeland Middle School Gym ceiling and walls were updated with a fresh coat of paint. The Lakeland Jt. School Board of Trustees approved the use of the Plant Facilities Fund to have this project completed.
Mrs. Clauson's 5th grade class at Garwood Elementary prepared for a volume project. They practiced measuring the length, width, and height of a box (rectangular prism) to calculate the volume of the box. They will be working in a team to create an animal out of rectangular prisms. They will calculate the total volume of their animal by adding up the volume of all of the rectangular prisms they used to create their animal.

Community/Parent Advocacy Group
We realize that many people are unable to attend our monthly parent advocacy meetings due to time constraints. In an effort to ensure that your questions are answered, we are putting a link on the district website under the Parents/Students tab and then Parent Advocacy where you can provide agenda items you would like to have discussed. If you are unable to attend, you will at least be able to listen to the discussion via the video link for the month. We appreciate your partnership! Thank you for sharing your children with us! We will be sharing the running agenda/minutes here.
