We kicked off on Tuesday, September 1.
We hope to do this all year!
Everyone is welcome to participate: little kids, big kids, adults, grandparents, strollers, dogs, fast or slow! You can walk, run, skip, roll, or ride!
We will stay spaced out and masks should be worn before we start and when you can’t keep physical distance during the mile.
This is very informal. No need to to rsvp. No tracking (yet)! Free for everyone!
Let’s start our mornings with a mile!
Sam Day Challenge
It's not too late to SIGN UP for the Sam Day Challenge!
Run, Walk, Roll, or Ride 37 miles during September, childhood cancer awareness month.
Why 37?
Sam Day's favorite number was 37. He claimed it was the "forgotten number" and was certain it was the least used of all the numbers under 100. Sam, with his very unique sense of humor, tried to draw attention to 37 in various ways, as if a number actually had feelings. Sam Day Foundation has created a symbolic link to number 37 because we are focused on bringing attention and resources to forgotten childhood cancers. These cancers together make up the number 1 disease killer of our children in the US. When you run/walk for 37, you bring attention and much needed research funding to the forgotten cancers and the kids those cancers hurt.
More about the Sam Day Foundation and what we are doing to help kids with cancer can be found here: www.samdayfoundation.org.
Foot Traffic Cross Country Club
Foot Traffic is offering a low-pressure and small group youth cross country practice on Mondays and Wednesdays at Terra Linda Park starting Sept. 21st and going through Oct. 28th.
There are TWO time options to choose from: 4-5pm and 5:15-6:15pm. Both are limited to 30 members each and there will be multiple coaches to split the group into smaller pods.
Masks required when athletes arrive and when they are near each other. The program is likely to fill before the first day like the East side program has, so SIGN UP SOON!
