MESSAGE FROM THE CCS ADMINISTRATION
Dear CCS Caregivers and the Charlotte Community,
This week at CCS, we experienced some truly spectacular moments that brought our school community together in meaningful and joyful ways. While amazing things happen in our classrooms every day, two special school-wide events stood out for their ability to spread creativity, collaboration, and positive energy across our school.
On Wednesday evening, we hosted our annual STEM Night, which brought caregivers and students together to build, create, explore, and have fun. A heartfelt thank-you goes to CCS STEM Teacher Steve Flint and the PTO for organizing and supporting this incredible event. The night was filled with hands-on activities, big smiles, and a buzz of excitement that even caught the attention of WCAX, who came to capture the magic.
On Thursday, students were treated to an inspiring performance by the Echo Dance Team, a traveling troupe from New York City. Their dynamic assemblies reinforced our CCS core tenets: Take care of yourself, take care of others, and take care of this place.
For our K-4 students, the energy was contagious—they danced out of their seats, clapped along, and left the performance declaring it was “the best thing ever!” While some of our middle school students were more reserved, others joined in the singing and clapping, sharing their appreciation for the creative delivery of such a powerful message.
A huge thank-you to Betsy Lloyd and the PTO for sponsoring this special event, and to all the families and community members who generously support opportunities that enrich our students’ learning experiences. Together, we continue to make CCS a place where learning, connection, and joy thrive.
Warmly,
Jen & Tim

RECESS SUPPORT - 10:45 - 1:00
Do you love to throw a football, referee a “world-cup soccer game” or enjoy a giggle listening to the creative stories of our youngest learners? How do you feel about the need for all children to have daily opportunities to run, play, and enjoy all sorts of Vermont weather? Can you support peers through a play-based conflict, focusing on compromising and perspective-taking? We have a fabulous team of 3-4 staff who supervise all CCS students through a rotation of recess from 10:45-1:00. Having extra folks to support this outdoor priority is needed to buffer staff absenteeism, to positively impact the youth on the playground, and to help cover the various activities that kids enjoy across our campus. All volunteers would need to go through the fingerprint process as CVSD volunteers. “Volunteering at CCS Website Link"
