Celebrations
Land Acknowledgement Ceremony
A couple hundred community members came out to celebrate, reflect and honor the legacy of resistance and resilience. We were fortunate to have amazing weather, commitments and speeches from Mr. T and Carolyn Clow from the Village Board. It featured a discussion about the history of settler colonialism, the actions and commitments from the community. Elliot Funmaker Sr and the Wisconsin Dells Singers and dancers educated the community on Ho-Chunk culture. We also had the presence and blessing of Art Shegonee (Menominee/Potawatomi and McFarland Resident).
Ms. Fletcher's AP Physics Class
AP Physics class did a projectile launch challenge! The goal was to use the mini-launcher to send a marble through a metal hoop. Students collected data and plugged the measurements into equations to predict the maximum height and landing location of the projectile!
Ms. Palmer's Introduction to Foods Class
Students were taught about the importance of reading recipes before starting to cook and were asked to underline all equipment needed, circle all of the ingredients, and highlight all the actions needed in the recipe. They then followed their directions to make a Chocolate Lava Mug Cake.

The Be SMART campaign was launched to raise awareness that secure gun storage—storing guns locked, unloaded and separate from ammunition—can save children’s lives. Be SMART emphasizes that it’s an adult responsibility to keep kids from accessing guns, and that every adult can play a role in keeping kids and communities safer.
4.6 million children live in a home with at least one unlocked and loaded firearm. This fact alone is
alarming and can lead to unspeakable tragedies, including unintentional shootings, suicides in children and teens, and gun violence on school grounds.
The good news is you can “Be SMART” and take these simple steps to help prevent shootings by
Children:
Secure all guns in your home and vehicles
Model responsible behavior around guns
Ask about the presence of unsecured guns in other homes
Recognize the role of guns in suicide
Tell your peers to be SMART.
This simple act of keeping guns unloaded, locked, and separate from ammunition can help keep our
children, teachers, staff, and community safe.
