• Wednesday, November 6 (3:30-5:00 PM) - Drumline Practice
• Thursday, November 7 (3:30-5:00 PM) - Marching Band Brass Parade Passoffs (Brass Only)
• There are outstanding fees for marching band, concert attire, and our New York trip. These fees must be paid as soon as possible. On November 1st, outstanding fees for Marching Band and Concert Attire will be submitted to the DCHS Financial Officer.
• We are still in need of student volunteers for TUESDAY (11/12) NIGHT to help sell concessions at Paws in the Park (held at Tanglewood Park). All proceeds for Monday and Tuesday will benefit the NY Trip.

Parents, please sign up for several shifts on SignUp Genius for Dewey's! This is our most important fundraiser of the year and it takes the whole village. Stay tuned for details of volunteer training and appreciation weekend November 16th and 17th.

Thank you to everyone who supported and celebrated the seniors this past Friday. It was a very special night for them. As we move in to the holiday season, please keep the Dewey's Store on your mind and sign up for as many volunteer slots as you can. Thank you to the parents for your continued support, and I hope everyone has a great week. - Silas

Congrats to all the marching band seniors that were recognized last Friday at Senior Night, and thank you all who helped make it happen. Also, the band trailer will be selling concessions at the Paws at the Park event on November 11th and 12th in Tanglewood; feel free to bring a dog and visit the trailer to support the program! Here's another reminder to sign up for the Dewey's volunteering slots. It's one great way to raise some money for our program! - Sean

We have a few opportunities for volunteers. These include:

• Booster Committees
• Fundraising Committee
• Concert Decoration Committee
• Year End Banquet Committee
• All District Auditions Committee

The next playing test for classes is due on November 17.

Over the next quarter, we will continue working on All District Scales. Parents, for all students taking band for honors credit, they are required to audition for All District. You should hear them practicing their solos and scales frequently. My ask is 20 minutes a day.

The kid's goal should be the "100 Hour Rule".

20 minutes a day is all that it takes to make you better than 90% of the people doing the same activity.

20 minutes a day is equal to 121.6667 hours for the year. This is only 1.3% of your time in a year! Make the investment!!!

The closer you get to the 121.6667, the more fun music and band becomes!

1. Marching Band Fees are now past due. Please remit payment via Quickbooks, cash or check (Made out to Davie Band Boosters).

Currently, we are ranked at 35. The top 32 teams make the playoffs. There are a few games this week that were rescheduled due to the Hurricane. These games COULD determine if we move up into a playoff slot. We will have a better idea of our playoff options by the end of this week. I will send out information once I have it.

If we were to make the playoffs, we would most likely be going to an away game on Friday, November 15. The location and time is TBD.
