Credit by Exam
Students in grades K-5 will have four opportunities during the school year to use “credit-by-exam” to accelerate to another grade level. Students will only have one opportunity to test for each grade level considered.
To apply to take the test to skip kindergarten, a student must be 5 by September 1, and registered in a CFISD school. To apply to take the test to skip grade 1, a student must be 6 by September 1, and enrolled in a CFISD school.
Students who earn scores of 80% or better on each component of the credit-by-exam will qualify to advance one grade. Only one grade level may be “skipped” each year. No retests will be given.
If you are interested in getting more information about credit-by-exam, please contact the school counselor at 281.856.1400 or kathryn.nomura@cfisd.net.

From the Nurse.......
Parents,
Please make sure to update the registrar with any changes in your cell, home or work phone numbers as well as those of your emergency contacts. It is imperative we are able to reach you in the event of your child’s illness, an accident or other emergency event involving the campus.
Also, the clinic has outstanding health referrals that have not been returned signed by an examining health professional. State reports are due soon and returned forms must be on file in the clinic. These may include a vision, hearing, Acanthosis Nigracans, or spinal referral. Please contact the Nurse Cheves should you have any questions regarding any of the above.
Thank you,
Chris Cheves RN, BSN.
Community Programs Parent Night Out - Pajama Jam
Friday, February 10 is our next Pajama Jam: A Parent’s Night Out. This event will be held at Arnold Middle School from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Cypress-Fairbanks ISD’s Pajama Jam is an evening of fun for your kids while you enjoy a well-deserved parent’s night out. The event includes dinner (pizza, cookies & juice), gym games, arts & crafts and a movie on the big screen! We will show Pixar’s "Inside Out." Children are encouraged to wear their favorite PJ’s.
All ages, up to 8th grade, are welcome; however, we ask that the youngest age be able to use the restroom independently.
The cost of Pajama Jam is $20 per child/$45 per family of three or more, pre-registration or $25 per child/$55 per family of three or more, on-site registration.
There are two ways to pre-register:
• From now until February 6th at 12:00 a.m., register online at https://cpo.cfisd.net (click here to download registration instructions: Pajama Jam Online Registration Instructions.docx )
• From February 7th-9th at 6:30 p.m., register in person at the Cy-Fair Annex
After 6:30 p.m. on February 9th, you will only be able to register on Friday, February 10th, at the door.
