Staffing Update - COVID Disruption Grant
We are delighted that Mrs. Nesta Morris has accepted this role and will continue to provide interventions on a full-time basis on Monday-Thursdays. On Fridays she will remain in her grade 3 classroom.
Tracy Somers-Brown will return to her grade 1 classroom position on a full-time basis. Additionally, Caitlin Ranger will be joining the classroom team to teach math each day while Mrs. Somers-Brown pulls her own classroom students for intervention. Miss Hannah Reiter, who has split her time between the grade 1 and grade 3 classroom, will now teach exclusively in the grade 3 classroom with Nesta Morris. Hannah will teach in that room on Monday-Thursdays.
Carey Flewelling has also accepted this new literacy intervention role on a part-time basis. Carey will be offering French Immersion intervention to grade 1 students every afternoon. This means that Carey will continue in the grade 2 classroom in the mornings, and Caitlin Ranger will be teaching in the afternoons in Carey's classroom.
We are looking forward to supporting our grade 1's with this additional grant funding and fostering their literacy skill even further.
Family Bike Safety Night
You and your child are invited to our JSM Family bike night, please bring your own bikes and helmets. Students will be able to try a variety of bike stations in our school parking lot, and will have the opportunity to learn some bike safety skills. Please meet in the JSM gym at 6:00pm for a quick bike and helmet safety talk with our Lacombe Police School Resource officer. Then we will head outside to the parking lot to practice our biking skills. We will have a staff member watching over the bikes while you are inside for the safety talk. The stations are a parent led activity, so parents do need to attend. *If it is raining or snowing we will reschedule for another night*
Date: Tuesday, May 31st
Time: 6:00pm - 7:30pm

My First Bicycle Foundation
The My First Bicycle Foundation is a registered Canadian charity established in 2014. We began as a foundation that helped financially disadvantaged kids play hockey. We have now transitioned to donating bicycles to under privileged children across Canada.
Our foundation believes that all youth deserve access to outdoor activities and exercise. Physical activity and sports give kids an extra opportunity to grow and develop physically and mentally while building character, confidence, and relationships.
