CRHS Engineering Students Partner with Local Company to Solve Real-World Problem
PLTW Engineering Design and Development (EDD) students are partnering with Aggressive Hydraulics, a local custom hydraulics manufacturing company, on solving a real-world problem within their manufacturing process.
On November 13th, students toured Aggressive Hydraulics to learn about their manufacturing process and see first-hand the problem the company is hoping to improve or solve. EDD students will be using the engineering design process to develop solutions to the problem, including creating 3D models and printing and testing prototypes. On December 19, EDD students will present their solutions to leaders from Aggressive Hydraulics!
The goal is to have Aggressive Hydraulics use the ideas created by EDD students to improve their manufacturing process. This is a unique opportunity for our students to utilize the knowledge and skills learned throughout their CRHS Engineering courses and apply it to a real-world problem!
Good luck to our engineering students- we can't wait to see what you create. And thank you to Aggressive Hydraulics for partnering with our school and students- we are incredibly grateful to have the opportunity for students to apply their learning in our community!
Biomed Students Sleuth to Solve Crimes!
At the end of trimester 1, PLTW Principles of Biomedical Sciences students presented their fictitious crime scene investigation analysis! For this project, students analyzed the timeline of events, DNA, finger prints, blood typing, time of death, toxicology reports, and digital footprint. Then, they created a poster board which outlined important case details to present to "detectives."
Students had fun with this project and were able to determine how the fictitious character died by putting their learning and skills to the test and analyzing all of the evidence!
CRHS Debate Team Scores Big at "Birds of Prey" Tourney!
On November 23rd, the CRHS Debate Team competed at the Robbinsdale Birds of Prey tournament. Nahum Yilma placed 6th in the National Qualifier Chamber and only one spot out of qualifying for Nationals. Adwoa Omari Kwakye placed in the Top 5 of Varsity Congress at Robbinsdale, which was also an awesome performance!

"Ads for Grads" for the 2024-2025 Yearbook
Attention Senior Parents- Senior year is an important milestone in many student's lives and it’s important to find creative ways to commemorate your student’s senior year, celebrate all of their hard work and accomplishments throughout their school career, and let them know that you love and are proud of them. A fun and easy way to do this is to place a Recognition Ad, or an “Ad for Grads”, in the 2024-2025 Yearbook. This is something that your student can look back on for years to come. It is very simple to create an “Ad for Grad.” Just follow the details below:
- Visit www.jostensadservice.com to begin creating your ad today using your favorite photos of your student and a personal message.
- Choose any photos you like: a baby photo, a grade school photo, or just a photo of your student that you love--you can even take a picture of the photo you want to use and upload that image from your phone.
- Photos may be in color or black and white, and you pick the fonts and background.
- Ads are available in two different sizes, 1/4 page for $60 or 1/8 page for $40.
- The Ads for Grads deadline is February 1, 2025.
If you have any questions or need tips on how to upload the pictures you want to use, please email Kari Berg at karilee.berg@ahschools.us or check out this sheet from Jostens with FAQs.
