CHROMEBOOK INSURANCE - update
The West Deptford School District will provide personal insurance for each student's Chromebook throughout your child's high school experience. However, to defer the total cost of the insurance, the district will require parents to pay a one-time, non-refundable insurance fee. All incoming 9th-grade students and students new to West Deptford must submit this fee during the first few weeks of school. Payment information and the required Mandatory Insurance form can be found here.
The 1:1 Chromebook Initiative Student Guidelines Agreement, including estimated damages pricing, can be found HERE.
MESSAGE FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE
Every effort should be made to administer daily medications at home. However, there are certain medical conditions that require a dose to be given during the school day. If your child requires medication to be given daily at school, please adhere to the following:
1. Please have your child’s medical provider complete/sign the medication administration form (available from the Nurse tab and then select Printable Forms) on the school’s webpage. The parent/guardian must sign the form as well.
2. The parent/guardian (not the child) must deliver the medication - in its original, labeled container from the pharmacy - to the school nurse for review. With the exception of emergency medication such as asthma rescue inhalers, epinephrine auto-injectors, and diabetes medicines), students are not permitted to have medicine in their possession during the school day; this includes over-the-counter medicines like Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen.
3. If your child has asthma and requires a rescue inhaler, a life-threatening food allergy requiring an emergency form of epinephrine, diabetes, seizure disorder, or any other serious medical condition, please have the appropriate forms completed by your child’s medical provider, and turned in to the school nurse.
The parent/guardian must also complete the INFOSNAP form to give permission for the administration of medications at school.
Please contact the School Nurse, Mrs. Kathryn Dreger, if you have any questions.
