HMS Parent Update!

We hope you had a great week! Lets start with some celebrating!

6th Grade Whippur of the Week: Elisa Yang

Elise is always kind, working hard and following directions. She is a great student and her teachers are thankful to have her on their team.

6th Grade Whippur of the Week: Rhys Payne

Rhys is a great role model for others. He has a great work ethic and is willing to help others succeed.

7th Grade Whippur of the Week: Madison Wiebe

Madison turns in assignments on time and works hard to do her best. She is kind, friendly and a great member of the whippur family!

7th Grade Whippur of the Week: Fiona Lewis

Fiona is consistently a stellar student! She is always putting forth her best effort on assignments, is a wonderful friend and a very considerate classmate. She is on task and a positive influence to others.

8th Grade Whippur of the Week:Jovi Gauthier

Jovi always has a smile on her face and shows kindness toward everyone she meets. In class she is prepared and ready to take on new challenges. She treats her peers and teachers with respect!

8th Grade Whippur of the Week: Robbie Caraway

Robbie participates in class and has a great work ethic. He has a great sense of humor and is always helping our schoool!

Safety Update: Upcoming Drill

HMS will participate in an evacuation drill on Friday, November 8, 2024. The purpose of this drill is for students and staff to be aware of our safety procedures should we need to evacuate the building for any reason. Please contact the main office if you have any questions regarding this drill.

Learning More About PBIS!

To assist our students in following Hampshire Middle School standards, HMS has adopted strategies from the PBIS program (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support). This program consists of rewarding students with positive reinforcements when expectations are followed. Signs that capture our HMS expectations are posted throughout the building and every classroom. Ask your students what it means to follow their “PAWS.”

Show respect.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

HMS is hosting our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday, November 25, 2024, and Tuesday, November 26, 2024. The times will be as follows:

Monday, November 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, November 26 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

We will be using PTC Wizard to schedule our conferences for this year. This is the same platform we used in previous school years. Please use the HMS PTC Wizard Link to schedule your student’s conferences. This link is only for your students who attend Hampshire Middle School. If you have students at multiple schools, please use the link provided by that school.

Your PTC Wizard Login username and password is the username(all lowercase) that you use to log in to the Parent PowerSchool Portal. Here are PTC Parent Directions on how to log in to PTC Wizard if you need them. If you forgot your username or need a password reset, please contact Laura Ramcke at 847-792-3200 or laura.ramcke@d300.org.

The fall parent-teacher conference scheduling window will open on November 8, 2024, at 10 AM and close on November 22, 2024, at noon. During this time, parents are able to schedule conferences for their students.

Winter iReady!

HMS will be taking our Winter iReady tests starting on Tuesday, December 3rd! We're excited to see how much our students have grown this year and will be celebrating the hard work of our students through a series of prizes and rewards. All students are expected to complete iReady Toolkit lessons for Reading and Math throughout the school year. Please ask your student to tell you more about the iReady Toolkit and how they're preparing to do a great job this December!

Notes of Appreciation!

Our District 300 staff do so much to take care of our students each and every day. Your specific words of appreciation can go a long way to support them. As part of our ongoing recognition of staff, we have developed this form to allow stakeholders to quickly jot a note of appreciation for a staff member's extra efforts.
