Giving Tree
Beatrice Gilmore School's annual Giving Tree holiday assembly was a great success and we are proud to announce we surpassed our goal in fundraising! The Giving Tree is a fundraiser started by Mr. and Mrs. Morello of the Family Reach Foundation which seeks to bring a little bit of joy and assistance to families with sick children in the hospital during the holidays. BG families sent in gift cards, cash, and some students even opened their piggy banks to donate what they could. This fundraiser brings awareness to helping others during a time when we are fortunate to have so much. Thank you to all the students and families that contributed, Mrs. Reisman and Mrs. Wilson's fourth grade classes for all they did to help make the Giving Tree a success, and to the Morellos for joining us to receive the gifts each year. Afterward, the whole school joined in a sing-a-long and were treated to a few surprise guests as well!
Toy Drive Success
The Memorial Middle School Student Council, pictured above with the school's Peer Leaders, ran a successful toy drive in December. Prior to winter break, the toys were picked up by representatives from the St. Agnes Food Pantry in Little Falls, to be distributed to area families in need.
House Day
Memorial Middle School held a house event day to close out December prior to break. Students rotated in groups through several activities including games of Clue, snowball fight dodgeball, and musical chairs.
Dress Down Fun
The students in Ms. Wittig's PreK-4 class at School 1 enjoyed the dress down spirit wear prior to Winter Break.
PVHS Marching Band Open House
The Passaic Valley Regional High School Marching Band will be hosting an open house for all seventh and eighth grade students from Little Falls, Woodland Park and Totowa on Wednesday. Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. The marching band is open to these middle school students to join as an extra-curricular activity. Music Director Mr. Schaefer encourages all those who may be interested to attend as the activity is not only a lot of fun but enriching to the student's musical experience. We currently have 11 Memorial Middle School seventh and eighth graders that are members of the marching band.
