Holly Ridge Middle School Update

On Tuesday evening, the Wake County Board of Education voted to make Friday, January 3rd a teacher workday. This will extend the winter break. We will see all students when they return to school on Monday, January 6th.

On Wednesday, we held our spelling bee finals to determine our top speller for Holly Ridge Middle School. Congratulations to our 16 finalists. And a special congratulations goes out to Zaneta D who won the schoolwide spelling bee and will go on to represent our school in the countywide spelling bee. Congratulations and best of luck!

The NJHS is hosting a drive to support our friends impacted by Hurricane Helene. They are collecting new PJ pants or Hoodies to help out students at Cranberry Middle School that were impacted by Hurricane Helene. Any donations may be dropped off in the main office.

On Friday, we recognized our students of the month winners for the month of November. We would like to congratulate each winner and thank them for being strong leaders, dedicated to their work and helping others. Congratulations!

Please remember that tomorrow, Monday, December 9th is the 2nd quarter interim report day. All grades will be updated in Powerschools by the end of the day on Monday. Please check Powerschools to see your student’s grades. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s teacher directly.

Please remember to encourage students to charge their Chromebooks each night. It is expected that students come to school with fully charged devices, as teachers do not have spare Chromebooks or an unlimited supply of chargers. We appreciate your support!

Attention 8th Grade Families

Our Rising 9th Grade High School Information Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd from 6PM-7PM in the auditorium. This meeting is for all 8th grade families regardless of what high school your student will be attending.

This is a friendly reminder for our back carpool line. Please remember to turn right when it's clear to exit the school. The shoulder should not be used for merging into traffic and must remain clear for emergency purposes. Thank you so much for your assistance!
