Dixie Magnet Elementary
Where the impossible comes true
Principal Update
Good morning! I hope this message finds you well as we gear up for another exciting week here at Dixie Magnet Elementary! I want to extend my appreciation to our incredible 4th and 5th graders for their outstanding effort and dedication during the recent KSA testing. They tackled each day with determination and focus, and I couldn't be prouder of their hard work. With just a few make-up tests left, we're almost at the finish line, and I have no doubt our students have done themselves proud!
This past Thursday our 3rd graders hosted their Spring PBL Expo Night. It was an evening filled with passion, creativity, and a deep commitment to making a difference in our world. Our budding conservationists dazzled us with their knowledge and dedication as they shared valuable insights on how to save endangered animals. From informative posters to captivating presentations, our students left us all feeling inspired and empowered to take action.
Looking ahead, we have a week jam-packed with excitement and festivities. On Monday, all students will have the opportunity to enjoy the talents of our 5th graders as they showcase their musical performance of the Lion King Jr. It's a momentous occasion that promises to be filled with laughter, joy, and perhaps a few tears of pride. For our families eager to catch the magic, we have two special evening shows scheduled on Monday and Tuesday at 6:00 PM. We can't wait to see you there!
Please note that Tuesday will be a day off for our students, as it's Election Day. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this time to participate in our civic duty and exercise your right to vote.
Wednesday brings another exciting event as our 4th graders step into the spotlight to present their Influential People Project-Based Learning (PBL). It's always inspiring to see our young minds delve into research and share their newfound knowledge with enthusiasm and confidence.
As we near the end of the school year, we're not slowing down on the fun! Our 5th graders will embark on an unforgettable end-of-year field trip to GattiTown, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Meanwhile, our Kindergarten and 4th grade students will be hosting a delightful end-of-year celebration on Thursday, spreading joy and cheer as they reflect on their achievements throughout the year.
And finally, we're gearing up for the highlight of the year - Field Day on Friday! Coach Gay and our dedicated staff have been hard at work planning a day filled with friendly competition, teamwork, and lots of laughter. It's always a highlight of the year, and I can't wait to see our students shine!
As we dive into another week filled with excitement and learning, let's continue to support and encourage our students every step of the way. Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to reach our full potential and to provide opportunities for our students to be a positive force in our changing world!
Sincerely,
Cynthia Bruno, Principal
