MARCH IS SELF AWARENESS MONTH
Self-awareness is having an accurate understanding of ourselves which includes knowing our strengths, our challenges, our hopes, and our emotions. As students learn to be more self-aware, they are better equipped for success in and out of the classroom. Try and highlight the five steps of self-awareness with your student this month.

Gloria McDonald participates in A Shot For Life
Gloria McDonald, a junior at Greenfield High School, has been selected to be part of the A Shot For Life Family Program! This selection has given her the opportunity to participate in the A Shot For Life Field Hockey All-Star Game on March 16th where she will compete with some of the best field hockey players in Massachusetts!
A Shot For Life (‘ASFL’) is a sports-based non-profit organization that funds health and cancer research initiatives. Through sports-based initiatives, community in-person events, and online activities, ASFL meaningfully engages and unites communities, inspires hope, and teaches community leadership. To be selected for the ASFL Family Program McDonald was involved in a scouting and interview process before being selected to take part in the all-star program.
"This research means very much to me due to the presence of cancer in many of my family members, specifically my uncle, grandpa, and grandma who have previously fought or who are currently fighting the sickness," said McDonald. "As a part of the participation process I've committed to a $1,000 fundraising minimum, but the goal is to raise as much as possible."
The money raised benefits Dr. William Curry’s Cancer Research Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital. ASFL has been funding Dr. Curry’s immunotherapy projects since 2011, and they’ve been published in research journals because of their positive results! To learn more about ASFL, you can visit their website at https://www.ashotforlife.org.

Student Athlete of the Week
Caleb Murray
Congratulations to senior Caleb Murray for being this week's Greenfield High School's athlete of the week.. Coach Thomas commends Caleb, "as a 4 year starter for the varsity basketball team. Each year he has led the team in assists and has been a double-digit scorer. This year he was a captain and averaged 10 points/ game and 7 assists."
But Caleb's talents are not just on the court. Caleb is a three sport athlete and captain of football, basketball and track. Coach Kuchieski says, "Caleb is an intern for the athletic department and does a great job." Caleb plans to attend UMass Dartmouth in the fall. Congrats Caleb
