Last January seemed to go on forever and somehow this year, we are already nearing the end of week three! Our final fundraising push of the year, our Online Silent Auction, begins this weekend! I have seen of some of the items up for bid and I promise you, this will be one fundraiser you will not want to miss! Keep an eye on your email and our Hayes PTA Facebook Page as we highlight the exciting offerings! While we prepare for an icy blast of cold weather early next week, our Daddy-Daughter Dance Chair is preparing to host a magical Winter Wonderland for Hayes Dad’s and Daughters at our Daddy-Daughter Dance on February 7th…the tickets are on sale now at our Hayes website, www.jhepta.membershiptoolkit.com. Finally, if you are interested in becoming a part our PTA Executive Board, positions are opening for next year! We will be sending out more information in the coming weeks!

Our ONLINE silent auction and LAST fundraising push of the year will begin at 9am on Sunday, January 19th and will end at 9pm on Saturday, January 25th. This weekend kicks off our last opportunity to earn money that will be used to fund the rest of the school year. Don’t miss out on your chance to let your Hawk become teacher for the day, party with their classmates and teachers, roam the halls at night, or fun things around our city like tickets to the theater, zoo or children’s museum! Or maybe you would rather travel for a family vacation! Good luck bidders! Thank you for your support and raising those Hayes Vibes all year long!

Our annual Daddy-Daughter dance is Friday, February 7th from 6-8pm. You and your leading ladies will enjoy a winter wonderland theme, snacks, drinks, dancing, and photos in the Hayes Gym.

The PTA hosts two class parties over the year, the Thankful Party in November, and the Friendship Party in February. These class parties are planned, paid for, and executed solely by the PTA and your donations. We ask that each child donate $10 to the class party fund. That is only $5 per party/per child. Snacks, games, crafts are enjoyed by all children in attendance, and we always welcome parents! Please consider donating so we can continue this special tradition!

Keep an eye out for an opportunity to nominate yourself or someone else to a PTA Executive Board position. We are always looking for individuals who are excited to help make a difference in our school. The Executive Board positions are as follows:

President, VP of Membership, VP of Fundraising, VP of Programs, VP of Volunteers, Secretary and Treasurer. These roles are integral to running the business of the PTA while also making decisions regarding important events, programs and offerings that students and staff enjoy throughout the year.

If a committee has caught your eye, we’d love to hear from you! Committee positions are as follows: Beautification, Carnival, Council Delegate, Father Daughter Dance, Fifth Grade Party, Homeroom Coordinator, Hospitality, Mother Son Night, Reflections, School Supplies, Sister School, Spirit Wear, Trunk or Treat, Website/Communication and Yearbook.
