Dear Eastwood Heights Families,

This week marks an exciting milestone—100 days of school! Together, we’ve achieved so much in this time, from celebrating academic success to fostering friendships that will last a lifetime. Each of these days has been filled with discovery, growth, and joy, and we are so proud of every single one of our Eagles. Here’s to continuing the momentum and finishing this school year stronger than ever!

Here's What's Happening This Week:

🤖Congratulations, Eagle Bots!
We are thrilled to share that our Eagle Bots placed 7th in the Superintendent's Cup yesterday! Our students worked tirelessly to demonstrate their skills and creativity, and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and determination. Way to go, team!

🦅 Student Ambassadors Meeting
Our dedicated Student Ambassadors will gather on Monday, January 27, from 3:00-3:30 in Room 102. This group of leaders is making a positive impact on our school community, and we are eager to see what great ideas they will bring to the table during this meeting.

📚 Brain Power Academy Continues

🩰Eagle Flight Dance Team Practice
The Eagle Flight Dance Team will hold practice on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00-5:00 PM. For students participating in Brain Power Academy, don’t worry—you can still attend! Head to your enrichment session first and then join the dance team for practice. The team's energy and commitment are unmatched, and we’re thrilled to see their hard work pay off in their performances.

🦅 Eagle Clubs Continue
Clubs are back in action this Thursday! The Rockstars (Rock Club) are polishing off something extra special and will need a little extra time. They’ll be dismissed at 3:40 PM every Thursday to make sure their creative projects are complete. We love seeing our students dive into these hands-on experiences and can’t wait to see their finished creations!

🦅 Best of Luck, GT Students!
We are cheering on our Gifted and Talented (GT) students as they compete in the QBEC competition this Friday. Your hard work and preparation are sure to shine—best of luck as you represent Eastwood Heights!

💯Progress Reports Posted
Progress Report Grades will be available on the Home Access Center (HAC) this Thursday. Take some time to review your child’s progress together and celebrate their achievements so far. It’s also a great moment to set goals for the second half of the semester.

📚Mark Your Calendars for Literacy Night!
Join us on February 5 for our highly anticipated Literacy Night! This evening will feature an electrifying performance by our Eagle Flight Dance Team and a visit from renowned author Phillip Cortez, who will share his love of reading and storytelling. It’s a night you won’t want to miss, filled with opportunities to celebrate and encourage a lifelong love of literacy.

• Complete Homework: Staying on top of assignments is a great way to build responsibility and confidence. Let’s make sure all homework is completed and turned in on time!
• Ask for Help: Questions are the foundation of learning! Encourage your child to reach out to their teacher whenever they need support. Seeking help shows strength and a willingness to grow.
• Stay Positive: A positive attitude can make all the difference. Let’s remind our Eagles to face challenges with optimism, support their peers, and celebrate every victory, big or small!

Parents, don't miss this fantastic opportunity for your 1st-5th grade students to participate in karate! The program fee is $25 per child. Registration is available at the front office and must be completed by Friday, January 30. All proceeds will directly benefit Eastwood Heights, with 100% of the funds reinvested into our school. Deadline to register has been extended to Thursday, January 30th.

Spring Parenting Classes are being offered for FREE for all YISD parents! This 6-session workshop is a wonderful opportunity to gain insight and resources. To register, please scan the QR code provided in the flyer by January 27th to ensure you receive the materials.

*If you're unable to attend any of the Eastwood Area sessions, you're welcome to join sessions in another feeder pattern. We hope to see you there!

Unit 4: Integrity lessons will begin the week of Jan.8th-Jan. 27th

Upcoming events:

• MOY Student/Parent SEL Survey- January 13th-24th. 3rd-5th grade parents please be on the look out for an email from "Mail Admin" to complete the SEL survey. 3rd-5th grade students will take the survey in class.
• Extraordinary Eagle: Will be held on January 24th. This event is dedicated to students who display exemplary characteristics of “Integrity". Classroom teachers nominate only one student per classroom. This event is by special invitation only.
• K.i.C. school-wide Project 4: Week of January 27th
