Best Wishes to a Special Employee ..
Following Extended School Year, Flemington Raritan School District will say "best wishes" to Sher DeGenova. Sher has been a Speech-Language Pathologist where she found fulfillment serving students, namely those with autism. She will miss Flemington Raritan School District and her colleagues, students and families. She loved "playing with toys and games all day, with the greatest students and staff ever!"
Sher was actually a theatre major before specializing in speech and language therapy.
She studied theatre at Drew, Ithaca and Vassar, and was led (she claims by an act of grace) to enter the Master's program in Speech Language Pathology at Rutgers University. Prior to FRSD, Sher worked at Matheny School and Hunterdon Medical Center, with experiences including but not limited to: early intervention, stroke patients' team, and communication impairment classrooms.
What will Sher do with her time as she closes the chapter as a speech therapist? When asked, Sher says, "I would say that I want to learn how to play the cello, but I have a feeling that sleeping in and taking it slow will be my first priorities". We wish Sher a beautiful new chapter, whether she revisits her initial theatre aspirations, continues to serve students and families, or becomes musically inclined on the cello!
Preschool Penguins are Graduating!
This year, our preschool expanded to include classes at Robert Hunter Elementary, First Friends, and Norwescap-Headstart. Culminating end of the year activities have include preschool graduations at each of the District's sites. Students sing songs, receive their diplomas and celebrate a year of growth and development. It was a pleasure to see the pride on the students' faces! Best of luck in Kindergarten!
PK has its own web page on the district's website. FAQs, Advisory Council, monthly news, and parent resources can all be found by clicking on the main page which can be accessed here.
