Site-Based Decision-Making (SBDM) Committee
Dear Cross Timbers Families,
We are excited as we prepare for the new school year, and an important part of our system is our Site-Based Decision-Making (SBDM) Committee. This committee is comprised of teachers, staff, parents, community members, and businesses that serve exclusively in an advisory role and approve campus-based staff development. The committee will meet four times per year and learn about the progress made on campus goals. If you want to serve on this committee, please complete the interest form linked below by Friday, October, 11th 2024.
Those selected to participate will be notified by email and will be provided with meeting dates and times. Thank you so much for your support. We are looking forward to a great year. Please direct any questions to mariamkagaso@misdmail.org

Boo Bash Candy Donation Request
Dear CTIS Families,
Our much-anticipated Boo Bash Event is just around the corner on, October 24th, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, and we need your help to make it an extra sweet celebration for our students!
We are asking for candy donations to ensure that this event is packed with treats and fun for everyone. Whether it's bags of your favorite candy, chocolates, or other sweet treat, every little bit helps!
Why Donate?
- Your donations will add a little extra magic to our event.
- You’ll be helping create special memories for our students.
- And, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love spreading a little sweetness?
Candy donations may be dropped off at the front office any day leading up to the event.
We appreciate your support in making this event a huge hit!
Thank you,

NOTICE OF STATE REQUIRED HEALTH SCREENINGS
Dear Parents/Guardians:
State law requires that all public schools hold annual health screenings for students. We will be screening students throughout the fall semester on all campuses. Students will be screened for Hearing, Vision, and Acanthosis Nigricans (a visual marker that may indicate possible signs of type 2 diabetes) in grade levels PK, KG 1, 3, 5, 7 and all New to District students. Please ensure that your child is wearing his/her eyeglasses/contacts to school daily. Female students in grade levels 5 and 7 and males in grade 8 will be screened for Scoliosis (a curvature of the spine). Boys and girls will be screened separately. If further evaluation by your doctor is needed, parents will be notified in writing. Please note that these screenings do not replace your child’s need for regular health care and check-ups. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Lost and Found
Dear CTIS Families,
Has your child misplaced their favorite jacket? Maybe a water bottle or lunchbox has mysteriously disappeared? It’s time to check the Lost & Found before those items are gone for good!
Our Lost & Found is overflowing with treasures that need to find their way back home! Please remind your student to visit the Lost & Found area located in the cafeteria or check with the ladies at the front desk.
Important Reminders:
- Encourage your child to take a look during lunch or recess for missing items.
-Valuable Items - In the case of finding a valuable item (e.g., electronics, wallets, jewelry, or keys), the item should immediately be brought to the main office. Valuable items will be securely stored and logged by office staff until claimed.
- Items not claimed by the end of each six will be donated.
- Labeling belongings with names makes future reunions much easier!
Let’s work together to reunite all those lost items with their owners. Thank you for helping us keep our school organized and clutter-free!
If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out.
