Hello Elm Street School Families and Friends,

I hope you are all continuing to enjoy your summer breaks and finding space to be outdoors, enjoy some unplugged time, and build in opportunities to rest and recharge. With just 2 and a half weeks left until the start of the school year I wanted to reach out and share some additional information about a few back to school events.

My plan for community communication going forward is to share a weekly update on Fridays via Smore. I will also send an email reminder with a link to the newsletter each week.

I want to share my gratitude for all of you who have reached out and connected with me over the past month and shared your warm welcomes. The more people I meet the more excited I am to get this year started! I am really looking forward to hopefully meeting some more of the community at the upcoming Principal Playground Days (see below).

In an effort to continue to make connections and build community I wanted to invite students and their families to meet me at the Elm Street School Playground on the following days and times next week. These optional opportunities allow us to informally connect and have students and families reconnect with new and familiar friends on our playground before the school year gets started.

I hope to see many of you there!

Note: The Elm Street School building will NOT be open during these days/times

Today finalized class placement assignments will be available in the family portal. Below is a link with instructions on how to access this information in Aspen.

We invite all of our new families in grades 1-5 to stop by Elm between 1:00 - 3:00p on Thursday August 24th. There will be opportunities to tour the building, connect with our guidance counselors, and get any questions answered as you prepare to start your journey with us here at Elm!

The first day of school for our students in grades 1-5 is Wednesday August 30th. On Thursday August 31st we invite our kindergarteners and their families to come in for a sneak peek to meet our kindergarten educators and see their kindergarten classroom before officially starting on Tuesday September 5th. The schedule for this sneak peek is below:
