Mustang Messages
September
A Strong Start
As you begin to solidify routines at home you might consider:
*Early bedtime (brains are tired from all the big work) including a story (book or electronic)
*Clothes set out the night before to make for on-time mornings
*Names on all clothing, lunchboxes, and water bottles (the lost and found is growing)
*Checking in on school updates (in conversations, in Friday Folders, ParentSquare, newsletters)
Happy Septemeber all! We hope you can come and volunteer at our PTO Family Fun Night on September 28th.
With gratitude,
Melissa Holz

Birthday Celebrations At School
Birthday Celebrations: Parents/Guardians please do not send or bring treats, balloons, etc. to school. At Chehalem, birthdays can be recognized at school (by the discretion of the teacher) but are celebrated outside of school. This is an equitable practice that maximizes instructional time. It also allows us to honor the diversity of our students and their families and limit allergic reactions.
Birthday Party Invitations: Party invitations should not be handed out in school unless the whole class is invited. Please note that addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses are confidential and will not be provided by the teacher/school.

🌟 Welcoming Week events and other activities.
We also would like to highlight two upcoming free events led by amazing partners:
- Caminata de Bienvenida a welcome walk in nature with Venezuela's Voice in Oregon at the Tualatin Hills Nature Park.
- Latinos Vigentes for the 55+ community with Cruzada Humanitaria, Cita con Nelly and collaborators. Happening at the Elsie Stuhr Center.
Drop off and Arrival Process Tips & Tricks
For your students' safety, please make sure students are entering the vehicle from the curb side. If this is not possible, consider parking and meeting your student at the front of the school.
Drivers are to remain at the wheel at all times. If your student needs support buckling, please consider parking, or wait to load your student until the very front of the line.
When entering the parking lot please form two lines and merge at the left turn in the parking lot. This will help us keep traffic flowing on Davis.
If you need your Driveline number, please contact the office.
We appreciate your support to get all our students home as safely and efficiently as possible!
