CVE Friday Flash
September 6, 2024
Mr. Macken's Message
Centerville Families,
Have you noticed white Cougar Tickets in your child's pockets? That's a sign they're meeting our behavior expectations, and it's something to celebrate!
This past week, we've been teaching kids about our four core values: Respect, Responsibility, Readiness, and Making Right Choices. Our PBIS rewards students with Cougar Tickets when they demonstrate these values, and they can win prizes in our weekly drawings!
To support your child's growth in these areas, we're introducing a new section in our Friday Flash.
This week, we'd love for you to:
- Watch our " Cougar Pride in the Hallways" video with your child.
- Discuss these questions:
- What does a voice level of "0" mean?
- Why is walking facing forward important?
- Set a hallway goal together (e.g., walk on the right side, open doors slowly, or keep facing forward).
For a complete list of our behavior expectations, check out our PBIS Expectations Matrix.
Thank you for helping us foster positive behavior at Centerville Elementary!
Go Cougars!
Mike Macken

Power Pack Opportunity
Do you have an hour a week that you would like to help us out? We are looking for volunteers to pick up Power Packs this year.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Drive to the Middle School on Wednesday
- Grab the tote(s) with CVE on them.
- Drop them off at Centerville School.
The more volunteers we get, the fewer times you need to go. It works great if we have at least 4-5 as that will only make the trip once a month.
If you are interested in helping us with the pickups, please call or email Judy Montain at 763-792-5804 or jmontain@isd12.org.

Minnesota law requires children enrolled in childcare, early childhood education, or school to be immunized against certain diseases, unless the child is medically or non-medically exempt.
If proper documentation is not provided, students will be unable to attend school after November 1st, 2023. What you need to do:
- Contact your health care provider and review your student’s immunization status to make sure they are up to date.

- Follow up with your students’ school if they have reached out to you regarding your student’s immunization status.
- Turn in medical (must be signed by health care provider) and non-medical (must be notarized) exemption forms to your child’s school.
Visit the MDH website for vaccine schedules, exemption forms and more information including where to get free/low cost immunizations today. Please reach out to your student’s school for any questions. Please note, K-12 immunization status is available on Campus Parent Portal.
