Student registration for the 2024-2025 K-5 Eagle's Nest program will begin on Thursday, April 4. Please visit the Eagle’s Nest website for more details.

Our annual author visit will take place on May 8, 9, and 10. Mr. Josh Funk will speak to the students about his writing process in creating stories. The books he will use as part of his visit are from his How To Code series, It’s Not A Fairytale series, and the Lady Pancake and Sir French Toast series. After spring vacation you will receive information on how to order a signed book by Mr. Funk for your child.

Recently the second and third grade students took the Measures of Academic Growth (MAP) assessments for reading and math. Results from the spring testing will be emailed to parents this week.

Beginning on April 23rd, students will be participating in our annual Wellness Event. This year's theme is the Summer Olympics. During your student's Wellness Rotation, they will be participating in this event for 2 days. Then, on Tuesday May 21st (Rain Date of Wednesday the 22nd), students will have Field Day which will be the closing ceremony of their Olympics Event. In order to make these events a success, we need the help of parent volunteers. Therefore, we will be sending out Sign Up links on Tuesday, April 9th at 5 pm for both events. Families will receive the sign up link for their student's Wellness Rotation as well as the link for Field Day. We ask that parents only sign up for one slot on one of the two Olympic days in order to promote fairness. However, if you have more than one student at the school, you can sign up for one slot per child. To help our rising first grade students prepare for the transition to our school next year, New Albany Primary School would like to invite families with kindergarten students into the building to see some special areas of the school. The Primary School staff will host tours on Thursday, May 2. More information will be sent to all Kindergarten families next week.

Spring group and individual pictures will be taken on Tuesday, April 9th. Flyers should be going home today to order the group photo of your child's class. You will be ordering a minipan if you choose to purchase this item. Individual pictures will be able to be purchased once the picture has been taken and sent to you to preview. You can order both items online.

Mrs. Martin's 3rd graders will perform "Movin' Up" on Tuesday, May 7th in the Primary Cafeteria. Students from Mrs. Brewster's, Mrs. Callahans's, Mrs. Crum's, and Miss. Rubenstein's classes will perform at 6:00. Students from Miss. Fife's, Mrs. Kirven's, Mrs. Mahan's and Mrs. Priest's classes will perform at 7:15 pm. These students should arrive 15 minutes before their performances.

Mrs. Cook's 3rd graders are excited to perform their "Movin' Up" program on Wednesday, May 8th in the Primary Cafeteria. Third graders in Miss Stanavich's, Ms. Hartman's, Miss Baus', Mrs. Stryjewski and Ms. Elmer's classes will perform at 6:00 pm. Third graders in Ms. Snider's, Mrs. Warvel's, Mrs. Finley's, and Mrs. Phelps' classes will perform at 7:15 pm. Students should arrive no sooner than 30 minutes before their performance time. We look forward to performing for you.
