Cold Weather Guideline's
During extreme weather conditions, students will not be required to go outside if the temperature, including wind chill, is -20°C or colder. The school may also decide to keep students indoors at temperatures warmer than -20°C, depending on specific circumstances.
If the temperature (including wind chill) is below -20°C, students will remain indoors for all recess breaks.
We consult the Environment Canada and The Weather Network websites for current weather conditions when making these decisions.
Student Arrival
If the temperature (including wind chill) is -20°C or colder, the front doors will open at 8:20 a.m. to allow students to come inside. Please ensure students enter through the front doors only.
Supervision is not available before 8:20 a.m., so students should not arrive before this time.
Dressing for Cold Weather It is crucial that children are dressed appropriately for the weather. This includes wearing snow boots, snow pants, mittens, coats, and toques. Please label all items to ensure lost belongings can be returned.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe and warm during cold weather.
