BHS Celebrates National Hispanic American Heritage Month
Established in 1989, Hispanic American Heritage Month is observed from September 15th to October 15th, when many Latin American countries celebrate their independence. This is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the diverse Hispanic cultures existing within our communities.
In Mr. Santos' Spanish classes, students worked together to create a Hispanic Heritage mural, featuring many prominent Hispanic Americans. This was a great opportunity for students not only to learn about different Hispanic Americans that have made a great contribution but also to showcase their artistic abilities.
Students also worked on projects during the month on different Latin American countries. Student researched countries such as: Guatemala, El Salvador, Chile, etc. and produced posters which detailed many important facts that made each country unique. Student projects are showcased in many of our classrooms for students and staff to enjoy!
