2024-25 School Year Calendar

SUMMER HOURS OF OPERATION - Hoover High School Summer Hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

ATTENTION AP BIOLOGY STUDENTS - you should complete the linked summer assignment before school starts in August. Welcome to AP Biology 2024-25!

SUMMER READING PLAN

Please see the official HHS Summer Reading Plan (Summer of '24) for information about the required reading (and any particular assignments) to be completed over the summer for the English course you'll be taking next year.

SUMMER REGISTRATION INFORMATION

10th, 11th & 12th Grade - WEDNESDAY, JULY 24:

You only need to attend registration IF you have an issue with:

*To pay past due fees

*To pick up your parking decal

9TH GRADE ORIENTATION - THURSDAY, JULY 25

All 9th Graders should plan to attend on this day for orientation

Students should be dropped off at the back parking lot 5 minutes prior to the start of their assigned session. The student orientation will last 1.5 hours, so please plan accordingly. Parents may drop off or choose to stay for an optional parent session addressing the freshman transition to high school. Ambassadors will guide students and parents upon arrival at the back entrance.

OPTIONAL PARENT SESSIONS WILL BE OFFERED DURING EACH TIME.

Students meet in the cafeteria at their assigned orientation time. At orientation, freshmen will:

Receive their 2024-25 class schedule
Meet their counselor and get advice on a great freshman year!
Meet Mr. Cedric Buchannon, 9th Grade Principal, and learn about high school expectations.
Take a tour of Hoover High with the Hoover Ambassadors.

Please make every effort to have your freshman attend this orientation. The planned sessions and tour will help your freshman be prepared for a great first day and fantastic year! We can’t wait to meet your freshman!

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

PARKING DECALS: Students must have completed online registration for the 24-25 school year to receive parking privileges. Please come at your designated time to pick up your parking decal. If you are unable to come on the original day please come to the main office for Make-up Registration. To pick up your parking decal, you must present your driver's license and parking receipt. Parking passes that have not been picked up by September 3, 2024, will be assigned to another student.

SCHEDULES: Schedules will be available for students to see in PowerSchool on Wednesday, July 24 at 8:00 am.

HOLDS: If you are unable to see your schedule a Hold has been placed on your account for either residency or fees owed. You will need to attend Registration during your designated time to clear your Hold.

NURSES: Nurses will be available each day to collect medication.

PARKING INFORMATION FOR 2024-25

Class of 2025 Students:

Parking Payment is open on My School Fees. Payment must be completed by the end of the day on July 12, 2024.
If on July 13, 2024, the parking form has not been properly completed or payment has not been received, then the student will be moved to the bottom of the parking list. Students will not be assigned a parking spot unless they have properly filled in all of the information on the form and paid their parking fee.
All parking decals that have not been picked up by Sept. 3, 2024 will be assigned to another student.

If you still need to obtain parking, please complete the HHS Parking Form 2024-25

Class of 2026 Students:

Parking Payment will open on My School Fees at 8:00am, Monday, July 15, 2024 It must be completed by the end of the day on July 19, 2024. Please do not rush to pay on Monday, July 15th because that will overload the system.
If on July 20, 2024, the parking form has not been properly completed or payment has not been received, then the student will be moved to the bottom of the parking list.
