Chapel Themes and Reminders
Remember, every Wednesday is Chapel, and we’re continuing our Hearts and Hands offerings! We encourage students to bring offerings each week. To make this a fun and positive experience, students can decorate their offering envelopes based on the weekly theme. While bringing an offering is not required, we hope everyone will join in the spirit of giving! These offerings will go directly into the Church's Youth Fund, helping to make a meaningful impact on our Church community.
Below are the chapel themes for the month of November:
- David and Goliath (3rd)
- Elijah and the Widow (10th)
- Jonah and the Big Fish (17th)
- Angels Visit (24th)
We can’t wait to see everyone’s creativity!
Campus Satisfaction Survey for Parents and Students
Below is a link to our Campus Satisfaction Survey. We’d love for you to take a few minutes to fill it out and let us know how we’re doing. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and helps us keep improving the experience for our students!
Food Pantry Donations
We’re excited to share that we gathered a lot of food to donate to the Bastrop County Food Pantry! Every contribution helps in the fight against childhood hunger, and we’re proud to support such a vital cause. This is just a small portion of what was donated.
Thank you to everyone who contributed!
Project Curiosity
On November 8th we celebrate the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math! In Project Curiosity, we hope to inspire students to get excited about STEM through low-risk inquiry of the world around them by providing hands-on experiences that will build the foundation for more advanced skills in the future.
This month students will explore Physics and Earth Science with activities investigating density, buoyancy, biomes, gravity, light, and chain reactions! Happy National STEM day!
School Board Updates
Our last School Board meeting was held October 16th and we covered a variety of church and school business. The church is preparing for their annual meeting on November 24th and we are continuing to recognize our Lions of the Month during church services on the 4th Sundays.
Our school is fortunate to offer a very limited number of scholarships on a case by case basis each year. We just opened a new account and will be working on raising funds specifically for this purpose in the future. Please reach out to Alysa or the School Board if you are interested in contributing to this fund.
We were updated on the progress of the security updates and are very excited about all of the upgrades being made. It will really help to ensure we continue to keep the safety of our staff and children as a priority. We also heard updates from the PTL about the exciting Fall Fest progress.
The next School Board meeting will be November 20th at 4pm. If you have anything to bring to the Board, don't hesitate to reach out.

Art at a Glance
Dear Good Shepherd families,
November has arrived, and we start this month off with a bang! The Art
Walk is November 1st at 6:30pm and we are meeting outside the
Bastrop Opera House. The Art Walk will be recognizing the Mexican
holiday “Dia de los Muertos”.
Entering the new month we are finishing up our Dia de los Muertos oil
pastel drawings. The students drew an animal inspired by the traditional
Mexican themed sugar skulls. They turned out very vibrant and colorful!
This month we will be continuing with learning different art styles and
techniques inspired by famous artists and add in some fall inspired
pieces.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all my students and have been amazed by
their artistic talents!

Art Teacher/Activity Coordinator

Car Safety Tips for Every Trip
Driving with young children takes planning and patience. You can't always stop kids from fussing or squabbling in the car, but you can take steps to keep yourself calm and in control. Here a few car safety habits that can make every trip more pleasant.
- Plan ahead for your trip. Have the items you need while driving close at hand so you don't have to reach for anything.
- Don't use a mobile device while driving. Texting and talking can wait. If you use your phone to stream music while you drive, set it up before you drive off.
- Pull over and stop in a safe location if you need to tend to a child. Never turn around or reach to the back seat while driving.
- Newer cars are equipped with safety features like backup cameras and automatic emergency braking. Take advantage of the built-in technology but don't take your eyes off the road. Technology is no substitute for careful driving!
- Keep a sense of humor and find fun activities when driving. Kids respond to songs, games, and laughter, and they love knowing you like to be with them. Think of car time as special family time and create some special activities you can share.
Children don't stay little very long. That sweet newborn you took home may be a challenging toddler today, but he'll be learning to drive before you know it. Make car safety a priority to help keep him safe today and in the years ahead.
