Jazz Band - The EDHS Studio Jazz Band had a fantastic experience at the Fresno State Jazz Festival, earning a "High Excellent" rating—just 4 points shy of a Superior rating—and a second Excellent score, giving them an overall Excellent rating. It was a strong debut for the group! The students also had the opportunity to work with Dr. Benjamin Boone, a renowned saxophonist and nationally acclaimed jazz artist, as well as Dr. Otto Lee, one of the most respected jazz professors in our area. The kids had an incredible time and learned a lot from these incredible mentors!
Honor Band - We are thrilled to announce that three of our band students have been accepted into the Dual County Honor Band (Tulare-Kings County Honor Band)! Congratulations to Samuel Zavala (clarinet), Nathan Yankes (clarinet), and Given Picar (alto saxophone). We are especially proud that Nathan, as a freshman, earned one of the top three spots in the honor band! A big thank you to our dedicated band teachers, Mr. Flores and Mr. Jimenez, for their guidance and mentorship.
Media Arts Academy - Our Media Arts Academy students earned 1st place at the 4th Annual Porterville Film Festival! Congrats to Jett Zwahlen, Sarah Garcia-Marquez and Adrien Bernardino on their win. Way to go, Miners!
