FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
Another great week at Father Doyle School! It was wonderful to see so many families at our annual Spooktacular on Saturday evening (maybe I took the trunk or treat part too literally?). Congratulations, also, to the winners of the 15th Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest. I was in awe of our students' creativity and ingenuity.
This morning we came together for Mass in celebration of All Saints Day. As part of this celebration, our 4th and 6th grade students dressed as their favorite saints and shared their saint stories with the congregation. The students have been working very hard on these projects over the last few weeks, and their diligence was certainly evident - bravo!
Lastly, a few important announcements and reminders relating to our school community:
The Return of Angel Awards!
We are pleased to announce the return of Angel Awards starting Monday, November 4th! Students in grades PK-8 are eligible to receive Angel Awards from teachers and staff for extraordinary acts of Christian service.
This year, students who earn Angel Awards will be entered into a monthly raffle with other awardees from the month for a chance to win unique prizes! The more Angel Awards a student wins, the better chance they have in the drawing! Raffle winners will be recognized at Morning Prayer Service at the end of each month. I look forward to catching our students in the act of serving one another!
Updated Nursing Protocols
In her efforts to continually enhance the safety protocols at Father Doyle, Nurse Cioe has been working on updating our nurse procedures. The new Nurse Policies and Procedures can be found here, as well as under Forms & Important Documents, and on our school website. This document - which has been peer reviewed by our Diocesan nurse - includes updated information and procedures for head injuries and parent contact.
Student Absences
In the event that your child is absent from school, please make every effort to contact the school to inform staff of the absence. This allows us to ensure that your child is safely accounted for, and assists with daily attendance and record keeping. In addition, please ensure that your emergency contact information is up to date. Thank you!
As always, please be sure to review the Upcoming Dates and Reminders below!
Wishing you all a blessed and restful weekend.
Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up
Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
