The Connection
The Connection - March 2024
Hello Everyone!
I am very excited to be facilitating the next session of our Fair Pay Now Coordinated Bargaining workshop on Thursday March 7th! This session, "Where Do We Go From No," focusses on how unions build consensus, mobilize their membership to influence decision makers, and the courage it takes to do that. We'll hear from leaders in Sheboygan who made this happen last summer and HOW they did it!
Last year's negotiation session was a transformative moment for us as a state. We began to learn how to create a coordinated front to maximize our negotiations and we're continuing to build on that work. Our first session, led by Ted Kraig, about how to understand your district's budgets received rave reviews. I hope to see you March 7th! (More information and registration below).
In Solidarity,
Kristin Lytie

Opportunity for Members to Earn through Outreach
WEAC/NEA is building the 2024 summer outreach program, training members – among the most trusted messengers to communicate with undecided voters – to talk about education and other key issues through a canvass program running in July and August. Member organizers commit about 20 hours a week and are compensated for their time, in addition to receiving a mileage stipend. Interested? Email Tiffany Reindl, WEAC Public Affairs, reindlt@weac.org.

Power of One is a yearly membership drive that rewards members for strengthening their union. Every union member that recruits a new member is entered into a drawing to win a $50 gift card. From April to June we share best practices on identifying the right people to ask, how to make the ask and celebrate our wins! Join us for the kick off on Tuesday April 9th at 4:30 via zoom to learn more about the Power of One! RSVP HERE.
