June 17 Last day of school for FMS - Half Day Noon dismissal
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
I can’t believe the end is upon us. Monday is our final day of the school year! The end of the year can be a hard time for students. I was really impressed with their commitment to finishing strong.
This week alone was packed. The 5th Grade did an excellent job with their celebration of learning. It was so nice to see so many people walking through to see the students’ work. The 3rd Grade was visited by members from the Maine Discovery Museum. They spent the day circulating through a variety of STEM based activities: Be a Space Suit Designer, Be a Rocket Engineer, Be an Astrobiologist, and Be Robotics Engineer! It was a lot of fun for the students. We had two readers theaters, a walking field trip, AND a whole school field day! Throughout all of it, the kids were amazing!
As this is the last newsletter of the year, I want to say thank you. Having two adult children, I still remember the difficulty with juggling everything. I hope the summer brings everyone a bit of relief and some time to rest.
We will dismiss at Noon. You can expect buses to arrive 3 hours earlier than normal.

Maine DOE has launched a new Maine Outdoor Learning Initiative portal to help families easily access available programs and identify opportunities for their children to participate. All programs are at no cost to families, include free transportation, and are designed for students who face economic or other barriers to experiencing high-quality outdoor learning experiences.
SUN Bucks will help families receive $120.00 for each of their school aged children. If eligible, you can use SUN Bucks benefits to buy foods like fruits, vegetables, meat, whole grains, and dairy at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other places that accept EBT benefits.
