Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.

March 14, 2025
Another full week at the Lab! We welcomed some lovely spring weather this week and the students were so happy to get outside for recess all week!
This week was also an "Underground Spirit Week" for staff. So, students were surprised each day to find their teachers (and Principal) drinking their water out of 'anything but a cup,' dressing for holidays long past or yet to come on the calendar, or wearing their pajamas today. Students were both confused and joyful at the silliness.
A highlight of the week was 5th grades Dancing Through the Decades. They were mature and focused in practicing all week and did an excellent job performing for guests this morning. Way to go 5th grade!
Next week we have two big events!
1) We are looking forward to Spring Family Night on Tuesday evening. We have a full evening planned around the theme of "Cruising Into Spring!" Please join us for an evening of fun and bonding with your community from 5:30 - 7:30. There will be student performances, games and prizes, learning opportunities, and the lovely Lutherville community surrounding it all.
2) Next Sunday is the Lutherville PTA's first Community Entrepreneur Fair from 1:00 - 3:00 at Lutherville Lab. Please join us and 35 student and community entrepreneurs offering a variety of projects and services. We hope you'll join us as a shopper and supporter!
In Partnership,
Mr. McComb

Students were joyfully confused on "Holiday Day" for staff. We're corny. We know. =)
Please help us spread the word for Kindergarten (and Pre-K) Round-Up! The event will be Monday March 31st!
We are seeking children in our school zone who will be enrolling for Kindergarten (5 years of age on or before September 1, 2025) or Pre-K* (4 years of age on or before September 1, 2025)
Attending families will have the opportunity to:
- Meet school staff, including a Kindergarten teacher
- Tour the school building
- Ask questions of school administration, front office team, and support staff (counselor, nurse)
*Note that Lutherville Lab does not house a Pre-K program, but families seeking BCPS Pre-K can register with our school and be placed at an adjacent school with the program, if they qualify.
Please help spread the word by sharing to any childcare providers and community groups with whom you may be associated!
The event is by appointment. Families seeking to register should contact Kelly McDevitt: kmcdevitt@bcps.org or call Lutherville at 443-809-7800

Roarin' Run - Packet Coming Home with Student(s) Soon
It is with gratitude for all of your support and involvement this year that we reach out with a request for our last big PTA fundraiser for the year. The goal is to raise $6,000 as a school community. The students will participate in their run on Fri April 11th during specials/related arts times.
What do fundraisers like this allow our community to do and have?
- Student support: every student can attend field trips, receive a book at the Book Fair, a school spirit item and a planner (3rd-5th graders) and participate in before and after-school clubs
- Teacher support: tools to do their jobs including special education management software, classroom materials reimbursement, appreciation events and funding for student club expenses
- School support: cultural assemblies, student, teacher and staff recognition, update and upkeep of instruments and classroom materials
- Community support: reasonably priced and free events
Every little bit helps and it is our goal to seek sponsorships from community partners so that less comes out of our personal pockets. So if you’re able to bring this letter (a copy will be in your student's folder soon) to a business you enjoy and make a request for support, we would greatly appreciate it.
We're excited to raise these funds and support our children and school. Thank you to Christie Miller and Julie Hirsch, our event chairs.
