Gage 4-H News

The Gage County 4-H Council currently has one adult and four youth vacancies. Thank you to everyone who has made and accepted nominations. Please help us in electing the new 4-H Council members by voting using the online form.

Voting will close Friday, December 6th at 4:30 p.m. Parents, 4-H Members, Clover Kids, and 4-H Alumni can all vote. We are only asking that you vote once. This is why we are asking for your name on the form. Names are strictly so there is only one vote per person.

Enrollment is open for the 2022-2023 Gage County 4-H year. The enrollment website is v2.4honline.com. All 4-H youth (ages 8-18), Clover Kids (ages 5-7), and leaders/volunteers are required to enroll online every year. Enrollment deadline is June 15. We encourage all members to enroll using a computer and not your mobile device. Call or email Jacie or Rachel at 402-223-1384 with any enrollment questions.

Please make sure to include or update your child's t-shirt size! This is the sizing guide we use to order the Exmark t-shirts for county fair! It is not a required field so can often be missed.

Enrollment fee is $12 for each 4-H youth to be paid online or in the office. There is no fee for Clover Kids or adults. We will not be approving enrollments until we have received payment.

Ready to showcase your achievements and leadership skills? The Nebraska 4-H Achievement Application is your gateway to recognition, scholarship, and national experiences. 4-H members ages 15-18 (as of December 31 of the current year) have a chance to elevate your accomplishments, share your journey and highlight your growth through this application. Be a part of the legacy of excellence within the Nebraska 4-H community by submitting your application by January 5th. Applications must be e-mailed to 4HAchieves@unl.edu. This application is for state-level project awards, Nebraska 4-H Foundation Scholarships, and national trips like National 4-H Conference & National 4-H Congress. The Nebraska 4-H Foundation encourages 4-H members from across the state to apply for scholarships. To apply, 4-H'ers must submit the Nebraska 4-H Achievement Application by January 15.

Youth interested in applying for these scholarships must make that designation on their application, as well as complete the additional section titled "Nebraska 4-H Foundation Scholarships." Additional materials are required for youth applying for scholarships, including a copy of current transcripts and ACT/SAT scores. These materials must be submitted digitally along with the completed Achievement Application. Scholarship applicants must follow the state-level completion and submission procedures. Nebraska 4-H is excited to participate in the 2025 Omaha Fashion Week Student Night!

4-H members ages 8-18 are invited to apply for the 4-H Collection to be shown at the Omaha Design Center on February 26, 2025. Garments must have been exhibited at the County Fair in 2024 and should be fashion-forward, runway appropriate, and display high-quality construction.

We want to remind everyone who turned in a record book and received an award at the Achievement Celebration to stop by the office pick up your items. If you need to make arrangements after office hours, please let the Extension Office know.

The Extension Library is in need of a little TLC. The library may need repairs such as new hinges, finishing, etc. If a club is interested in this being a service project for them please contact the Extension Office at 402-223-1384.

Organizational Leaders - Please turn in your club's 2024 Year End Treasurer's Report and Club Summary Form by January 15th, 2025. The treasurer's report looks a little different this because in addition to your clubs treasurer's report we also need you to fill out the annual inventory report. This is any item that is owned by the club. Inventory items may include, but not limited to physical items such as computers, robots, shooting sports equipment, etc. That form is included below with the treasurer's report.
