HOMECOMING INFO
National Suicide Prevention Month
THS Parents and Guardians,
At Tomball High School, we do our best to ensure that our students are not just successful academically but also socially and emotionally. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. This month allows us the opportunity to educate people about the signs of depression and suicidal thoughts, as well as to reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues. Learning about resources available in our school and community can encourage struggling individuals to seek help.
On September 19th during Cougar Block, students will watch Erika’s Lighthouse Depression Awareness Video. We encourage you to preview the video and discuss the importance of mental health with your student. Should you have any concerns about your student participating in this activity, please do not hesitate to reach out to your student’s counselor. If you would like to opt out your student from watching this video, please complete the OPT-OUT FORM.
Thank you,
THS Counseling Team
MOCK SAT & ACT
The Tomball High School PTO invites all students to take the Digital Mock SAT or Traditional Mock ACT on Saturday, September 21, 2024. The exams will be given by The Woodlands Test Prep.
Test scores and a detailed performance report will be available the week following the test. All test results will be emailed. Students may take only one test.
Registration is ONLINE ONLY. The fee is $26.50. Students will register through The Woodlands Test Prep site. Once The Woodlands Test Prep has confirmed your registration, you will then receive a link to the THS PTO site to pay for your test.
Click on the QR code on the flier to register.
If you have any questions, you can reach out to Nancy Curtis Hairell at thsptomocktests@gmail.com.
PROCTORS NEEDED
On Saturday, September 21st, the THS PTO will be offering the Mock SAT/ACT exam to all students. Five proctors are needed to administer the exam. Each proctor will be assigned a classroom with 15-25 students, and you will receive a detailed script outlining what you need to do. This is a GREAT way for you to familiarize yourself with the college entrance testing process and experience firsthand what your child is doing. No advance knowledge is necessary and there will be a lead proctor from the Woodlands Test Prep available to answer any questions. It's super easy! Please consider signing up!
