In February, the CAC will be coming to our school and meeting with each grade level to discuss safety. Please check out the links below for more information, as well as, an opt OUT form. These forms will also come home in your child's take-home folder soon. If after you review the information, you do not wish for your student to attend, fill out and opt OUT form and send back to us.

Read Across America coincides with benchmark testing this year. To help limit distractions, we will not do a full week of dress up days at that time. We will still celebrate and have dress up days; however, we are going to spread those out through the month of February. Please see below for detailed information.

February is an exciting time in the library. Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders began the month completing algorithms. Valentines Day is on the way, and in February we celebrate Black History Month and Presidents Day. Also, this year we changed up our “Read Across America" celebration. Rather than celebrating for one whole week, students are encouraged to dress up for our theme every Friday this month. See the flyer in your student’s folder and in this Smores. Our second dress-up day is on a THURSDAY, February 13, because students are out of school on Friday, Feb. 14.

Mark your calendars for our next K, 1, & 2 reading party on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 6-7pm in the cafeteria. Sign-up sheets will go home next week. In other news, I will be gone on a medical leave from February 10 until after Spring Break. Please welcome Denise Mead, our interim librarian.
