One School, One Book - The Wild Robot Escapes
We will kick off our school-wide shared reading experience on Tuesday, January 21. We will be reading The Wild Robot Escapes by Peter Brown. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of our Woods Creek PTO, each family will receive a book to read together at home.
Our goal is to encourage and support a shared love of reading between students, staff and families at home. We ask that you take some time each week to read and discuss the book as a family. You will be sent discussion questions to help guide your conversations surrounding the book. Don’t worry if you can’t read together as a family each night, as we will have recordings of each chapter available for students to listen to at school, too. There will be several activities happening in your child’s classroom and around the school. In addition, we will offer optional weekly activities you can do at home.
We are so excited to share this book with you as well as the fun school and home activities we have planned for the next 6 weeks! We will host Family Reading Night on February 27, as well, from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Winter 2025 Student Assessments
For the 2024/25 school year, FastBridge testing will occur for all K-8 students during the window of Jan. 13 - Jan. 27. In addition, all K-5 students will have the SAEBRS (Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener) assessment completed for them by their teacher. This will also take place Jan. 13 - Jan. 27.

The MLL (Multi Language Learner) teachers recently hosted a special surprise activity in two of our classes. We invited two talented parents of MLL students, who are professional art teachers, to lead an exciting fall themed art project and a winter themed art project. All of the materials were generously provided by these parents, while they directed the students to create stunning artwork under their guidance. The event was a huge success, bringing creativity and joy into the school day. We are grateful to Mrs. Pop and Mrs. Bogdan for sharing their time and talent. We couldn’t be more proud of our students for their amazing artistic efforts!
