For the month of Januray our school wide C.A.R.E.S. focus is Assertiveness.

Happy New Year! Our students have set a new attendance goal for the month of January. Understandably, sicknesses happen. If students are sick with a fever, vomiting or diarreah, keep them home. We look forward to having more classes meet their goal this month.

Parking Lot Safety: Arrival and dismissal are busy times of day. Please remember to be patient and drive safe in the parking lot. We have staff doing there best to support and make sure all of our students and families stay safe.

Here are some helpful reminders for parking lot safety:

- Lot both ways and check for students and adults before driving

- Follow the flow of traffic

- If you need to park please use a parking spot

- Wait for an adult to direct your student to your car during dismissal

Immunization Appointments Available: Avoid clinic wait times!

Schedule an immunization appointment at your nearest Student Health Center now and turn in your updated records to your school before the annual exclusion deadline.

Deadlines to submit updated immunization records for this year:

• Jan. 15 to not get an exclusion letter
• Feb. 19 to not get turned away from school

Talented and Gift Nominations: A TAG (Talented and Gifted) student demonstrates exceptional abilities or potential in areas like academics, creativity, or leadership. They may excel traditionally or challenge the norm by thinking or learning differently.

Parents play a vital role in identifying TAG students. If you believe your child has unique talents or learning needs, we encourage you to nominate them. The process is simple, and your input helps us provide the right support. Please fill out the link below if you would like to nominate them. We will be doing assessments in February for all of 2nd grade and nominated students" ~ something along those lines

January Lunch Menu:

PB Site Council/Tier 1 Leadership Team: Calling all Powell Butte Elementary Parents and Community Members. We need your voice! We are looking for parents and community members to be part of our PB Site Council/Tier 1 leadership team . We meet every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 7:30am - 8:30am in the library. If you are interested in being a part of our team please reach out to Mr. Austin or Mrs. Reyes. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 24th.

Profile of a Graduate Community Forum: We hope you will join us for our Profile of a Graduate Community Forum on Thursday, January 30th, starting at 6:00pm in the Community Room at Centennial High School. This forum will be an opportunity for all members of our community to review the plans developed in the first two design retreats and share your feedback with our teams.

Urban Gleaners Food Pantry at 3:30 PM on Every Thursday (starting September 12th). There is Urban Gleaners Food Distribution every Thursday that we have school. Urban Gleaners Food Pantry distribution is held under our front covered area at 3:30 PM. Come and get free food and other supplies.
