TIGER TIMES

NOTES FROM YOUR PRINCIPALS
Dear Titus Family,
What a truly special week it has been here at Titus! We had the privilege of witnessing an incredible assembly and concert, where our talented young musicians showcased all their hard work and dedication. As I watched them perform, I couldn't help but feel immense pride in how far they’ve come. Their efforts are a true testament to their passion and perseverance, and I’m so grateful to be part of our special school community.
We’ve officially reached the halfway point of the year, and it’s exciting to think about what’s ahead. As winter continues, we’re looking forward to the arrival of spring and all the wonderful events that come with it. Keep an eye on our Tiger Times for updates on upcoming activities, including sign-ups for dances, bingo, book fairs, and more. There will be plenty of opportunities for us to come together and enjoy the rest of the school year as a community.
Wishing you all a wonderful and restful weekend!
Warmly,
Your Proud Principal
Mrs. Helen Sclama Zaleski
Hi Titus Community –
We had another amazing week at Titus. We have finally had some warmer weather, so it has been nice to see the students outside at recess running around and getting some fresh air. My highlight of the week at Titus was watching our students perform in the orchestra, band, and choir. Mr Branchfield, Mr. Hurle, and Mrs. Vuocolo did a tremendous job preparing our talented students.
After Mrs. Zaleski and I made our cameo, I was able to check in with our band students. These trumpet players were ready to get out there and put on a show. Way to go everyone!
Have a great weekend!
Have an awesome weekend everyone!
Your Proud Assistant Principal,

TITUS SCHOOL DAY
SCHOOL HOURS REMINDER
We are an "A" or early school, and our hours are 8:35 AM to 3:15 PM.
The morning kindergarten session hours are 8:35 AM to 11:10 AM.
The afternoon kindergarten session will run from 12:40 PM to 3:15PM.
START OF THE SCHOOL DAY ...
Please be aware that the school day begins at 8:35 AM in your child(ren)'s classroom(s). If you are a car rider in the morning, it is recommended that children are dropped off no later than 8:30 AM in order to get to their classrooms for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. If a student arrives in their classroom beyond 8:35 AM, they are considered tardy. Parents will need to come into the building to sign their child in if they arrive after 8:35 AM.
The adults supervising the car-rider drop-off line will be on duty until 8:32 AM. Students dropped off after 8:32 AM will more than likely not be able to make it to their classrooms on time for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. Also, for safety reasons, students arriving to school prior to 8:15 AM, need to be supervised by their parent/caregiver. We ask that all students wait with their family member in the drop off line until 8:15 AM.

BINGO Baskets - Help Needed!
PLEASE HELP US FILL THE RAFFLE BASKETS!
We hope that you will join us on Thursday, March 20th for the Titus Family Bingo and Book Fair Night. And, in between these two exciting events will be the Hallway of Raffle Baskets. Last year’s baskets were AMAZING, and we promise that this year’s offerings will be just as fabulous. Money earned through raffle ticket sales supports the activities and purchases of our Home and School Association. Each homeroom has a raffle basket to fill. Please look for an email from a parent volunteer and help if you can by purchasing an item or two for the basket. You can support this effort in a big or small way!
Thank you!

WINTER WEATHER INFORMATION
Reminder: Winter Weather Procedures
Winter Is Coming: A Reminder About Procedures in Case of School Schedule Change
With the official first day of winter on Dec. 21, CBSD families are reminded of district procedures should winter weather impact the school day schedule. You can find all related information on this webpage. If school buildings need to close or operate on a modified schedule due to present or pending weather conditions or any other emergency, the district will endeavor to communicate the schedule change to families as soon as possible. Please note that this year, CBSD will be utilizing Flexible Instructional Days (FIDs) should school need to close after the first use of a traditional snow day. You can learn more about the procedures for FIDs here.
Info on Flexible Instructional Days, Expectations for Families and Students
A Flexible Instructional Day (FID) is designed for situations where school buildings need to close due to weather or other emergencies, but learning can still continue at home. Utilizing a FID allows us to avoid extending the school year or disrupting the instructional calendar as well as provides an opportunity for students to practice their skills and become more independent learners. Elementary and secondary students and families have certain expectations should a FID be necessary. Complete information, including an explanatory video with a translatable script, can be accessed on our FID webpage.

CBSD EDUCATION FOUNDATION INFORMATION
How the CB Education Foundation Supports Students
The Central Bucks Education Foundation is a local non-profit whose mission is to enrich the experience of CB students and teachers by funding innovative educational opportunities, grants, and scholarships. As a non-profit, CBEF relies on donations from community members. With generous donations, big and small, CBEF strives to make a difference in every student's education. To learn more about the foundation and how you can support its efforts, visit CBEF's website.
Consider Tax-Deductible Contribution to the CBSD Education Foundation
As we approach the end of the year, the Central Bucks School District Education Foundation invites you to consider making a tax-deductible investment in education. Right now, teachers from schools across the district are submitting grants for programs that directly enhance the learning experiences of your children. Your generous donation will help make this a reality. Every contribution, big or small, helps CBSD educators invest in innovative classroom projects and resources. You can choose to make a gift in honor of a special teacher or student, and we will share that acknowledgement with them. To donate, visit https://cbeducationfoundation.org and email Jackie@cbeducationfoundation.org with any questions.
ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
Regular School Attendance is Critical for Student Success and Well-Being
As we begin the 2024-25 school year, CBSD wishes to remind families of important information regarding attendance. Pennsylvania's school laws, like Act 138 of 2016 and the updated Act 16, outline what is required for mandatory school attendance and procedures to follow when students are absent or late. Learn more

VOLUNTEERS
DON'T FORGET CLEARANCES ...
Titus will expect all potential volunteers to complete their paperwork for clearances prior to assuming any volunteer/chaperone role within the school. This will ensure we are in line with district and state expectations.
Who Needs Clearances: An individual who is responsible for the child's welfare or has direct contact with children. Pennsylvania law requires all persons having direct contact with school children to obtain background checks and clearances. In the best interest of the safety and security of our students, Central Bucks School District required the submission of these clearances prior to volunteering during the school year. Approved volunteers are given an identification card to be presented at the school (along with your photo ID, such as a driver's license) when volunteering. Please allow 7-10 days after you have submitted your online application for receipt of the ID card.
Additional information and steps on how to complete your clearances can be found on our district website by clicking here.
