WBSD Operating Millage Renewal - Feb. 27, 2024
Here are answers to Frequently Asked Questions. Key points:
- This is not a tax increase. This is a renewal of an existing millage.
- The non-homestead millage proposal is only for non-homestead properties, like commercial, business, rental properties, vacant land, and second-home property owners. This portion does not impact primary residence.
- This makes up approximately 17% of our annual budget.
There is an Operating Millage Renewal FAQ on the district website that contains facts about the ballot proposal.
Here is the actual ballot language:
West Bloomfield School District Operating Millage Renewal Proposal
This proposal will allow the school district to maintain the number of mills required to be levied for the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance and renews millage that will expire with the 2024 tax levy.

This year’s theme is to design a physical product that improves access and mobility for visitors of all types to any of Michigan’s 5 National Parks.
Concepts should help users explore the National Parks in fun, safe, and exciting new ways that look at any of the challenges that exist for visitors of these parks. Examples of these challenges are, but not limited to, transportation or vehicle access to destinations in the parks, walking or hiking, access for visitors with disabilities, personal mobility vehicles, charging access for EV vehicles of all sizes, mobility across unique terrain or weather challenges, interaction with animals and nature, sightseeing, recreational activities like camping or cross country skiing, etc.

Music Class News:
Hello 4th Grade Families! Your students will be starting recorders shortly in music class! The recorders will stay in the classroom and will not come home, however you are more than welcome to purchase your own and bring it to and from the classroom if you choose! The recorder I personally recommend is available at most online retailers and it is called the "Nuvo Recorder+". As a reminder, you do not have to buy these as there are recorders being provided in class. Thank you so much, I look forward to the fun things we will accomplish! -Mr. Bryzik
