Principal Update
Dear Families,
We’re excited to see some warmer weather in the forecast next week! However, since mornings can still be chilly and we’ll continue to have outdoor recess, please make sure your child has appropriate winter clothing to stay comfortable while playing outside.
Next week, our 2nd and 5th graders will be taking the CogAT assessment. This is an opportunity for students to show their thinking and problem-solving skills. Information gathered from the CogAT will be used by Barrington 220’s teaching staff as one way to examine students' reasoning skills. Here is the letter from the district regarding the testing. We encourage them to get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast to start their day strong!
As always, we appreciate your partnership and support. Wishing everyone a great week ahead!
Warmly,
Dr. Ruesch
Your Feedback Matters!
We invite you to participate in the 5Essentials Survey, which helps guide school improvement by gathering insights from parents, students, and staff. Your input provides valuable information about our school’s strengths and areas for growth.
The survey takes just 10-15 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. To participate, visit: http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/ and select “Barbara B Rose Elementary School” from the list.
Why Your Participation Matters:
✅ Helps shape future decisions for our school
✅ Provides insight into school culture, learning conditions, and communication
✅ Ensures your voice is heard in making Barbara Rose even better!
The survey is open until March 28, 2025. Your participation makes a difference! If at least 20% of our families complete the survey, we will receive a detailed report that guides school improvement efforts.—every response makes a difference!
Thank you for your time and support in making Rose a great place for all students to learn and grow.
Here is the link to the letter that provides more details on the survey. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
K-Lab Virtual Round-Up Additional Session
We will host a Kindergarten Lab (K-Lab) Virtual Round-Up Informational Session on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 6 - 7 p.m. for parents of incoming kindergarteners. Learn more about this unique, full-day program at Barrington High School, which offers a one-of-a-kind educational experience for our youngest learners and our high school students. In addition to the core kindergarten curriculum, K-Lab students participate in numerous activities with high school students, such as horticulture activities inside the BHS greenhouse, authentic learning experiences inside the new state-of-the-art culinary arts lab, musical instrument exploration with high school band and orchestra students, and cultural celebrations with BHS world language students. K-Lab students form connections to their home school through participation in extracurricular and PTO events throughout the year and complete grades 1-5 at their home elementary school. For more information about K-Lab and the virtual program link for Feb.26th, visit: https://www.barrington220.org/families/kindergarten-information.
