Summer PD Opportunities

I hope you are enjoying all of the sunshine and heat thus far. Throughout the summer, members of the PreK-5 Digital Learning Team met to identify district technology needs. Based on feedback, we purchased several online platforms to streamline the curriculum, instruction, and communication. We are in the process of developing plans to accommodate a hybrid model and/or fully remote. Regardless of learning mode, we believe that the online platforms will provide our students with engaging and interactive tools in-person and remotely. The new platforms will enable us to deliver instruction in both modes: synchronous and asynchronous.

As we transition to a new mode of learning, please consider the professional development sessions listed in the newsletter as you prepare for the fall. Please know that we are planning several technology-based sessions during the scheduled PD days in August as well. All of these sessions are completely optional, but pertinent to our work.

Clever, a digital platform, will be used as a single-sign and to roster/sync staff and students for most of the programs. However, not all of the systems sync with Clever. For example, you will receive a separate login for Mystery Science. However, if you want to get started, see Clever login directions listed below.

Clever also has some cool things for teachers I’m excited about:

• Custom pages that teachers can share with students
• Ability to check whether a student has logged in
• Button to launch an app to all students at once
