Patterson's Perspective
Grizzly Families,
As we move into the second half of the school year, I'd like to emphasize the importance of classroom attendance. Regular attendance is the number one factor for academic success. Our mission to maintain and continue to build a tradition of academic excellence begins with all students making attendance a top priority. Click here for information on our District attendance policies.

Counselors' Corner
This past week in the Counseling Office, TRHS Counselors met with 317 students to assist with academic planning, social emotional concerns, and post secondary planning. Counselors have been busy helping students choose their courses for the 25-26 school year, emphasizing the importance of rigor, balance, and post secondary readiness.
As we’re a few weeks into the semester now, we want to remind students of some of the supports available to all students:
- FREE tutoring is available for all students on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in room F224
- National Honor Society students are available for help during Grizzly Hour each week in room F224
- ALL teachers are available to help students during Grizzly Hour each week
- TRHS Peer Counselors are caring upperclassmen trained to help students with whatever they may need. Talk to your counselor if you would like to be paired with someone, or stop by the counseling office.
There is always a counselor, or member of the mental health team, on-call in the counseling office, should students need immediate help with an urgent situation.
TRHS Counselors have a wealth of outside resources to share with students in need - reach out to your counselor for help!
TRHS Career Exploration series continues!
This series provides students the chance to hear about careers in a broad variety of industries around our area. Every Tuesday from 10:20am-10:55am, we host a different career speaker who shares with us about their job, their career journey, the skills and interests needed, and much more. Click here to sign up!
February 4th: Brandon Flack - Water Quality Technician
February 11th: Alyssa Mariano - Music Therapist
February 18th: Renee Pawloski - Interior Design/Color Analyst for Color Savvy Studio
February 25th: Jill Roberts - Physical Therapist
Peer Counseling applications are now available!

Surviving and Thriving - helping teens and caregivers
See the attached flyer for more information on how teens and caregivers can learn about the impact of trauma on development and strategies for change.
Mindful minute - Being a teen in 2025
Our teens face a myriad of challenges unlike any generation before: academic pressures, mental health challenges, family dynamics, uncertainty about the future, struggles with body image, relationships, political issues, technology overload and navigating their identities. Mindfulness can help teens by promoting self-awareness and emotional regulation, reducing stress, and improving focus. It encourages acceptance of thoughts and feelings, fostering resilience. Through regular practice, teens can manage anxiety, improve mental health, and navigate challenges with greater clarity and calm, leading to healthier responses to stressors. Mindfulness for Teens is a wonderful resource to help teens begin and maintain their own mindfulness practice to be their best selves!

IB Update
This week in the IB world, we here at TRHS wanted to share a TED Talk from author Sir Ken Robinson. This talk was sent out to all of the IB coordinators from the IB folks in The Hague a few weeks ago. It is a really interesting look at the current climate in education and Ken tells us how to get out of the educational "death valley" we now face, and how to nurture our youngest generations with a "climate of possibility."
