EBH Safety Drills--Lock Down Drill Completed Today
I am pleased to inform you that today our school successfully conducted a lockdown drill as part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff. The drill was carried out smoothly, with everyone following the procedures quickly and calmly.
We regularly practice these drills so that students and staff are prepared in case of an emergency. The goal is to help everyone feel confident about what to do should we ever face a real situation. Please rest assured that these drills are handled in a calm and supportive manner, and we take great care to minimize any stress on the students.
How You Can Support:
- Talk to Your Child: Please take a moment to ask your child how the drill went and offer reassurance that these exercises are simply a precaution to keep everyone safe.
- Reinforce the Importance of Safety: Remind your child of the importance of following instructions during these drills, while also assuring them that the school is a safe place.
We thank you for your continued support in helping us prioritize safety. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding our safety procedures, please feel free to contact us.
Transportation Updates
Parents/Guardians: Please be aware that the Transportation department will be enforcing the following procedure for bus changes this year:
Students will be permitted to take a different bus ONLY for emergency purposes or for a permanent change to the student’s bus schedule. For students who participate in Chorus, Band or clubs--the same address used for the 2:20 bus run will be used for the 3:20 bus run.
Examples:
If a student typically rides the frog bus M,W,F and the chicken bus every Tuesday and Thursday, this would be a consistent schedule and can be maintained.
If a student moves to a new address, the bus change would be approved for the new permanent
address. This should be communicated with the main office, and they will start the process for the change. This may take up to two school days.
If a student has a note from a parent that they can ride the bus home with a friend, that note will not be approved.
Any emergency changes will need to be approved by the building principal.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding of our procedure to keep students safe with a regular dismissal routine.
