Principal Update
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are thrilled to announce the kickoff of our Kindness Challenge at school! We cannot wait to see the incredible impact we can make together with your support. Over the past two years, we've been able to accomplish so much — from upgrading our turf fields, soundproofing the gym, adding a gym divider for PYP/MYP, to installing picnic tables and umbrellas for our students to enjoy. And that's just the beginning!
However, there’s still so much more we can achieve, and we need your help to keep this momentum going. Your continued involvement makes all the difference in enriching our students' experience and helping our school thrive.
We are so proud of the progress we’ve made, and we know that together, we can continue to create an environment where kindness and growth go hand in hand. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. We look forward to seeing all the amazing things we will accomplish in this new challenge — with your support!
With gratitude,
Ms. Torres

Counseling Corner
At Franklin Academy, we believe in fostering a safe and supportive environment where every student feels valued, respected, and free from bullying. As part of our commitment to promoting a positive school climate, we're dedicated to raising awareness about bullying prevention and equipping our students with the tools and strategies they need to stand up against bullying behavior.
Understanding Bullying
Bullying can take many forms, including physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying. It involves repeated aggressive behavior intended to harm, intimidate, or exert control over another person. It's important to recognize that bullying can have serious consequences for both the victim and the perpetrator, affecting academic performance, mental health, and overall well-being.
Our Role in Bullying Prevention
As members of the Franklin Academy community, we all play a crucial role in preventing bullying and creating a culture of kindness and empathy. Here are some ways we can work together to address bullying:
Raise Awareness: Talk openly about bullying with your child and encourage them to speak up if they witness or experience bullying behavior. Remind them that bullying is not acceptable and that they can always turn to a trusted adult for help.
Promote Empathy: Encourage empathy and kindness at home by modeling respectful behavior and emphasizing the importance of treating others with compassion and understanding.
Build Resilience: Help your child develop resilience and self-confidence by praising their strengths and supporting them in overcoming challenges. Teach them positive coping strategies for dealing with conflict and adversity.
Stay Informed: Stay informed about your child's social interactions both online and offline. Monitor their internet and social media use, and be proactive in addressing any signs of cyberbullying or online harassment.
Resources and Support
If you or your child need support or guidance regarding bullying prevention, please don't hesitate to reach out to our school counselors. They are available to provide individual counseling, support groups, and resources to address bullying concerns and promote a positive school climate.
Remember, bullying prevention is a shared responsibility, and by working together as a community, we can create a safe and inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
