Here are the 5 important news items you need for this week!

1. You will need to have made at least two communications with your mentor (9th-12th grades) or your teacher (K-8th grades) by the end of the day on Tuesday, 8/27/24 for attendance purposes for the week.
2. The attendance week begins on Wednesday and ends on Tuesday. The next full week is 8/28/24-9/3/24. Each week you will need to have two back and forth communications with your mentor or teacher.
3. NWEA testing is this week. Be sure you've signed up for your testing slot with Mrs. Raseman if you are in K-8th grade.
4. For high school students attending the tech center, classes start Monday, August 26.
5. No school on Friday, August 30.

Below are links to slideshows to help you navigate the online learning platform. If this program is new to you, please look through these slides (and save them for future reference) to help you and your child get started with his/her learning. Please note that the elementary slideshow is different than middle and high school.

For K-8 grade students, Mrs. Raseman should be able to answer most questions. If she can't, she will guide you to who can. She can be reached at kraseman@otsegops.org.

Every OVA student is assigned a teacher (for K-8) or a mentor teacher (for 9-12). Every Wednesday, the teacher for K-8 or the mentor teacher for 9-12, will reach out to the students they are working with with a short assignment. Students are expected to communicate back with their teacher or mentor. Each week, each student must respond to at least two communications with their teacher or mentor. The week starts on Wednesday and ends on Tuesday. This is a requirement and how attendance is taken at OVA. Attendance plays an important role in the success of the student in the OVA program. Please be sure to communicate with your teacher and/or mentor teacher.

K-12 grade students at OVA are welcome to come to Otsego High School on Monday, September 9 from 11-12:30 for school pictures. You will get your picture taken that day and will receive an email when your photo is ready. At that point, you may login and purchase pictures through an online store. Please let us know if you have any questions on the process.
