Hello, Bridport Community!

We had a great week! We spent it playing, laughing and learning. So many amazing things happen each day at BCS, and its hard to capture it all... however here are some highlights for me from the week:

1. Watching 3rd graders working with Ms. Angela to put on a reader's theater of The True Story of the Three Little Pigs and performing for all classes.

2. Playing "old school" games with K/1 during inside recess.

3. Singing "Who Let the Dogs Out" with preschool during playtime

4. Participating in Day of Play on Friday and seeing the cooperation, flexibility and communication that students showed as they developed their own games, and had so much fun.

I hope everyone has a restful, rejuvenating and joyful break. We are looking forward to seeing everyone when we return on March 5th!

A story about a young Muslim girl who is fasting for the first time during Ramadan. She is far away from where she grew up, missing her friends and is unsure if her teacher and classmates will understand what Ramadan is and why she is fasting.

• Ramadan and Eid Teach-in is a recording of a webinar with Asma Elhuni that was sponsored by the Vermont Coalition for Ethnic and Social Equity in Schools. It’s excellent information to understand the month and the holiday.

Substitute teachers are crucial for our students, staff, staff, and schools! We are increasing our daily substitute teaching rate to $160/day for unlicensed subs and $200/day for licensed subs. This change begins on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 when students return from winter break. This flat rate replaces our sliding rate of pay for subs depending on the number of days worked.
